The band's favorite songs... by themselves?
(Preview)
Is there any articles out there about which Pulp songs the members of the band are the most proud of or like the most? I haven't read many of the books, but I've been meaning to get around to it.

Steve Albini (1962-2024)
(Preview)
Very sad news recently that Steve Albini - who engineered Jarvis Cocker's "Further Complications" among a sea of incredibly important albums - has died suddenly. Half the people in the room for Further Complications have now passed away, very sad

History repeating itself ?

Remember when Help the Aged got debuted at V96 before Pulp went quiet for a bit? Then Hardcore appeared down the line. Background Noise got debuted recently, and it's gone quiet again....

Party Hard remixes...
(Preview)
...each and every one of them is utter dogwank. What a shame. The only passable one is the Chocolate Layers remix, but seeing as both of them were already in Pulp, it's more like an alternate studio mix than anything else. Could they really have recruited no-one better? Dearie me... -- Edited by lipg...

His'n'Hers is 30! And "It" is 41!

Wow, didn't realise they were both released on the same date til Pulpwiki informed me just now. An apt symmetry really - their two debuts - actual and major. Happy birthday to all the babies and er, lighthouses out there x

My Pulp Experience Circa 1991
(Preview)
Hi all, new to this forum as I wanted a place to share my Pulp concert experiences. I first saw Pulp was in 1986 in Hull with my sister. My sister was big into Pulp, and tried to get me into them as well. Unfortunately, this gig did not leave much of an impression on me and I did not really like Pulp's sound. I wa...

parasocialism and jarvis rant
(Preview)
I've been listening to a lot of Wireless Nights & Sunday Service recently, and I've noticed something kind of interesting. Jarvis seems to approach parasocialism from a very different angle to most celebrities. It reminds me of how Morrissey treats his fans, letting them interact with him on a...

Trying to identify source of live recordings - help please!
(Preview)
Hello, it's been a while since I properly posted here, but I do like a lurk. Recently I've been working through my 'unsorted' Pulp audio files, in an effort to group them by gig/recording. This is all stuff that I've downloaded in the past (I think mainly from here). A bit of searching on here suggests th...

Countdown 1992-1983
(Preview)
I have 2LP and 2CD versions of the "Countdown 1992-1983" compilation, both of which have the Nectar Masters logo on the cover. However, I have seen photos of a cover for this compilation with the Fire logo on (see the one on Pulp wiki) but I have never actually owned one of these. Is this a non-UK version o...

Something or nothing ??
(Preview)
Now, we all know that I have had a huge gut feeling for a very long time that a new album is on the way, and most certainly with these huge gaps appearing between shows too..... However, I got a notification that shocked me a little today on Facebook.... Am I right to be thinking, it's actually happening ?

OFF TOPIC: My band are playing after 10 years!
(Preview)
Longer-term Pulpers may remember us (possibly!) but my old band Dogstand are jumping on the reunion bandwagon and playing a show on Saturday 9th March in SE London, for the first time in the best part of a decade. We will be playing a good, long set (I reckon probably about 75-90 mins). Hard to describe u...

Hey there, bit nervous to post on here because as a *light* user of morrissey-solo I haven't had very nice experiences with forum sites. There's something about it that I find very intimidating. Anyway. I'm working on a zine at the moment about pre fame pulp and I've been digging for obscurities, I've...

Pulp Songs

Hello Bar Italia people. I've just started a new project - http://pulpsongs.wordpress.com/ The idea is that I'm going to write about every Pulp song, in order. It's not a completely original idea, but I'm hoping to do it as comprehensively (and, I hope, interestingly) as possible. Right now it's v...
