Jarvis Beatboxes to End Knife Fights
(Preview)
Jarvis has joined a crew of musical artists who will beatbox to reduce knife crime. I'm not sure how a charity event proposes to reduce the number of people who have knives, or choose to use them on other people, but hey, it sounds like a fun 'do. The Pitchfork article says he'll be joined by Venessa Carlt...

Is it when a Pulp fan finds the word 'Queen' before their eyes it sparks a mixture of bad emotions, including disappointment and outrage, as it normally signifiys the absence of any Pulp in the racks at a record shop?!

Tony Christie Single
(Preview)
What does everyone think about Tony Christie's new single, a cover of Born To Cry? I'm undecided, it's a great song but I'm not sure it suits his overly-accurate vocal technique. Funny thing: Planet Sound describe it as a cover of a Pulp 'rarity'! How does a song you can easily buy as a download or on the N...

Pulp songs which sound like other songs.
(

)
(Preview)
Can anyone think of any Pulp songs which strongly remind you of other songs?
Obviously She's A Lady seems to borrow very heavily from I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.
Also We can Dance Again, in the chorus, sounds very like the verses to Tragedy by the Bee Gees.
Can anyone think of any other example...

Dog Day Afternoon

Saw this at the weekend for the first time, fairly straightforward bank-heist goes wrong story but Al Pacino playing a homosexual is not something I thought I'd ever see. As for the lyric in Loss Adjuster, not sure I get the link. Do what you've got to do while you still have the chance?

Okay, maybe this is a bit of a cheap idea for a thread, but I'm bored. Am curious to hear what the 'average' Pulp fan is currently listening to, so if anyone fancies putting their iTunes or what not on random and listing the first ten tracks it throws up then that would be cool. I'm sure everyone loves showi...
