If anyone is looking for music DVDs on the net, I really do recommend the Jools Holland Cool Brittania stuff, it is amazing - early performances from Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Keane, Charlatans and the likes .....
Yeah, I have it, though my mate borrowed it a couple of years back and I've never got it back. Supergrass' rendition of 'Caught By The Fuzz' is probably my favourite on it.
On a related note, I see Mojo have released one of their special editions on Britpop. Lots of new interviews apparently. Any of Pulp? Preferably non-Jarvis. The front cover doesn't exactly sell it to me, Jarvis and Jacko: The truth'' or somesuch rubbish. But they've got some good writers so it might be worth a buy. NME did something similar four years ago, except it was a collection of cuttings from the original NME/Melody Maker mags from '1992-98, which was quite enjoyable.

There is a Pulp interview sans Jarvis. Steve Mackay & Russell Senior seem to be the main interviewees, and it's a bit of a where are they now. Delves into Jarvis's drug consumption during Hardcore, though Steve seems to think he was doing far more! I just read it in HMV on afternoon. Not worth buying unless you have a fiver burning a hole in your pocket. The NME/MM one was better. This Blur "reunion" has woke up a few commisioning editors. Shame I haven't got my Britpop memories in book form....

I used to have the first of those DVD's which I foolishly sold. May just buy the double pack because I miss it now. I agree about the the Supergrass performance being particularly good!
I remember it was Disco 2000 on the first DVD. Do you know what the Pulp track is on the second...?
The (genius) Later performance of ''I Spy'' is on the very first ''Later...With Jools Holland'' dvd. Nice mixture of stuff on that edition too, more of a greatest hits Later rather than a Britpop orientated version.
Cheers for the heads-up on the Mojo thing ArrGee. Russell is always worth listening to so I might get it when I'm back home. You're dead-right about the Blur reunion causing this revision/review, I imagine.

cheers for that! let's just hope is avalible on amazon
The main gripe I have about these Later compilation DVDs is that the older clips have been reformatted for widescreen TVs, which means a huge chunk of the picture top and bottom is missing. It's not an issue for stuff recorded post-1999 or so, since the show was made with widescreen in mind from that point. But all the Britpop-era stuff wasn't made that way, and really suffers from the conversion. I guess a lot of people either don't notice or don't care, but it bugs me whenever I see them hacked about like that. It's a shame cos the actual performances on the DVDs are, as has been said already, excellent most of the time.
I'm glad it's not just me then :) I have most of these episodes on tape still from when they were first broadcast; I keep meaning to do some comparison shots between tape and DVD so people can see what they're missing. One day!

Yes, I had (have? hopefully!) that DVD. I remember an awesome performance of Primal Scream doing Swastika Eyes too. Or would that have been 'PRML SCRM//SWSTK YS' !! Off-topic, Exterminator (sorry, 'XTRMNTR'!) is easily my favourite Scream album!
