New Album?
(Preview)
Well, do you? No fence-sitting now. I'm pretty sure that two months ago 95% would have answered "no". Next week: should there really be a new Pulp album... -- Edited by superchob on Thursday 5th of April 2012 07:29:19 PM

Wireless Nights
(Preview)
The first episode just finished and guess what...Jarvis had the start of 'Goodnight' played in the background at some point! Is this the first time he's (almost) played a Pulp song on the radio?

Respect for Nick!
(Preview)
Just thought he never gets much attention in here, so I'm offering a shout out to Nick! Can't imagine the band without him, he's a friendly, earthy chap, he's a great drummer and he doesn't seem to have aged in years. So there you go.

Newly Unearthed 1980 Jarvis side-project...
(Preview)
Around 1980, Jarvis Cocker played a most unusual gig. In a pub car park. In Eckington. One of his band mates, Mick Hercun, takes up the story. Mick played in 'Milk for Jason' alongside Saskia Cocker and her friend Joanne (the 'It' backing vocalist), and would later play in the Negatives and Tsi Tsa, who...

Albert Hall Bootleg

(Preview)
I'm transferring the recording I made from last night to my PC. If I uplaod it in it's raw form as it is can anybody here edit it and reuplaod as a decent bootleg. The quality is much better than I expected from a mobile phone recording in my pocket - but it is exactly that. It could do with beefing up a bit and c...

How popular is 'Like A Friend' in America?
(Preview)
Up until the Pulp reunion got going and the band really came back into the public eye, Like A Friend was the second most listened to Pulp song on Last FM, pretty much totally from US listeners. What I can't tell is if this is because people are listening to the whole soundtrack from Great Expectations, or...

Too ashamed to show his face
(Preview)
Many of you no doubt heard Jarvis' angry rant after a 'fan' yelled that he was 'boring' last night. That 'fan' was none other than our own Captain Tractor. Why had he done this? Well, upon Guitarist Richard being introduced, the Captain yelled out. He yelled 'Hawley!' Jarvis misheard. And ranted. All...

Another way to do it...
(Preview)
It's interesting seeing Britpop bands reforming and 'doing things'. Obviously Pulp are following in the trajectory of Blur to an extent, although they have played more foreign festivals and done less (no!) interviews which is a little interesting. However, whilst Blur have chugged out two (ish)...

Was Russell meant to be playing RAH?
(Preview)
Just been having a look at the setlist. We have songs that featured him on guitar on track 1, track 2, track 3 and track 4, then track 5 and track 6 would have had him on violin. Then there's four tracks that featured no Russell involvement, followed by Sunrise, which he generally came back on to. Then Bar...

Common People @ RAH Question
(Preview)
I'm sure I read on another thread that they got a replacemet violinist for this. Were they any good, was the song any good, should they have gone with the re-arranged post-Russell Krautrock/Motorik version?

Name that tune.
(Preview)
Suddenly got a snippet from a song in my head bit don't know which song, pretty sure it's a Pulp song.
The bit that came to me is almost spoken, and I might not have the words right but it's something like: "a lamp shade completely irrelevant"?
Ring any bells? It's sounds a bit odd.
