Yeah Like A Friend was good to hear but I think Bar Italia is overplayed now though. Am I the only one who thinks its one of Pulp's weakest songs? I would have been happy if they only played My Lighthouse to be honest, nothing came close!
It was one of the first songs I ever learned for guitar, so I think that also helps me to venerate it. That and a cracking '95 Bootleg of it being performed (slowed down) in Germany that I listened to incessantly as a teenager.
Ah ok that makes sense, I used to play Dogs Are Everywhere and Death Goes To The Disco on my bass when I was a teenager, it was good fun :). Don't think I've heard the slowed down version.
There's one at Dijon 28/11/95 that's not amazing quality but is the slow version and is in circulation. Another at Stockholm 6/2/96, Toronto 30/5/96 etc. Seemingly at any 95/96 gig it's the sexy, slow, creeping one. I'll upload one if you're unable to find one yourself.

Hmm, strange. I had thought that it was rarely played even in DC times, and that the performance at Blackpool Empress Ballroom was one of the few existing live recordings of it. Then they played it at the Mercurys, won and said it would never be played live on tv again or something? (until Reading '11)
For people with less time on their hands than me, here's a list of how many Different Class songs were played at gigs by year.

...My link seems to be dead. Here are their numbers anyway, if you'd like. Looking again at the 'gig numbers' in the margin, it's probably not so accurate after all...

Is it on the baritalia yahoo account? Can't find any live versions before 2011 on youtube
Their numbers don't quite match yours (http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/pulp-bd6bdda.html), but given that Babies is seldom not played, you can understand why certain band members began to express revulsion at this too...
That said, I think D2000 attracted more derision than Common People.
Not much dissent voiced since the reunion though. And glorious titbits like Birds, My Lighthouse, OU, SSC and Countdown will hopefully keep things fresh for a long time to come.

Ah but correct if I'm wrong but setlist fm does not have every Pulp setlist since 1994-ish whereas Pulp Wiki more or less does.
...Quite right. Now that I look, they are only surveying 135 gigs. These are drawn from throughout their career though, so I suppose its a little like chucking a quadrangle over some daisies.
Ok, I was going to ask "why don't they play Monday Morning anymore?" Clearly just not at the 3 I went to last year! I like Monday Morning and it seemed to be the ONLY song off diff class they hadn't played!
Shotoki I'll try and upload some versions at the weekend. Superchob my stats are taken from both Pulpwiki and the Sturdy Truth & Beauty site. Any mistakes are my own, but I believe my little spreadsheet is far more accurate than Setlist.fm! LalaHobbit I thought the same with Pencil Skirt. It's the one song (other than His 'n' Hers obviously!) which I didn't get to see last year despite going to four gigs. Boo...
