I was thinking I may be able to make pre show drinks after all but then there's a problem with the trains and I'm only just leaving Durham now! Looks like straight to the Albert hall for me.
I'll be at the Queen's Arms between 5 and 5.30. I have dark brown hair and a short beard, medium height. Will probably be wearing a check shirt and a blue jacket. See you all there! :)
Ha ha! Did you actually invite Steve to the meet up?! I made it to the Albert hall with 10 mins to spare! At Feeling Gloomy now. It's rather good here isn't it?!
He was with an older chap, a minder I think. I ran outside, shouted "Excuse me, are you Steve?" Steve smiled and said yes! He said something I didn't quite catch (it might have been "I was ordering drinks for the band" - I definately heard the word "band"). I said that I was here with the Bar Italia forum off the internet and he said, "Oh right" and laughed. Then he said that he had to get back to the venue. I waved and said goodbye and he said goodbye and walked off. I ran back into the pub and told the others that it was really was Steve and they just stood gobsmacked.
Sorry Tricia, I would have taken a picture for you, but I couldn't grab my phone out my pocket in time. Maybe you'll have better luck in NYC.
it was great to see some old faces again, and meet some new ones too. What nice people Pulp fans are!
I managed to get into the standing area! I took my £82.50 seat, sat there for about 2 mins feeling massively disgruntled at the being so high up and cut off from the stage (at that price, whoopeedo it's a box - it's still a rip off!), and decided nothing was going to stop me from getting into the standing area. Mananged to work my my into the stalls unchallenged, but got hauled out by about 5 security when I hopped over the barrier into standing, so I went straight round to the arena doors and slipped past while wristbands were being checked in front of me. So no abseiling from balconies involved but still a result!

See you all next time! Please Pulp......
I saw you walk briefly into the standing area up a tunnel thing, trying to blag your way past the stewards, someat about bad eyesight!, about 3 feet in front of me and the woman with the bob wouldn't let you stay, went straight out again and my heart sank, I didn't see you reappear. Been worrying about that ever since. Really nice to meet everyone in the pub.

The eyesight thing was true! I am shortsighted and have no glasses. That was the first time when I got caught, cos they saw me jump over the stalls, but the second time I just entered into the arena directly unchallenged.
Nice to meet you Fran, sorry I didn't get to say goodbye - I remember you saying you were going to the toilet, and you didn't reappear!
I wasn't suggesting it wasn't true. Really glad you made it in the end.
I had a panic attack and thought I'd lost my ticket. I had it in my hand as I came in past the external door ticket checker, then I put it on the security man's table while he made me go through my bag and couldn't find it as I was going to my seat, so I went back to the security desk to see if I'd left it there. Security man was convinced I had put it in a side pocket, which I hadn't, I eventually found it in the heap of TCT material they had been giving out next to the security desk.

You are very brave :)
Thank you all for the meetup!
According to Murphy laws Pulp shall announce another UK concert after the end of September, when my visa expires.
Sorry I didn't make it to this. Being early in the queue seemed more important. And it was made all worthwhile by Jarvis popping by us four queueing people to have a bit of a chat.
Wasn't too impressed with Feeling Gloomy. Mis-Shapes, Disco 2000, Shatner's Common People, Razzmatazz etc. etc. You can hear these things anywhere. I see that 'Scared to Dance' played stuff from Separations etc...

Haha well done, glad to hear you made it! I was so disappointed with my seat at first, couldnt see anything! But then everyone stood up and the sound was still really good so it was ok :)
@Mia: Thanks for suggesting the meet up, I had a great time! Hope you enjoyed the gig and it was worth the journey, despite no Master Of The Universe :)
