Well did he? I remember that song being earmarked for single release before Lush split up so it would have made sense for him to perform with them to promote the song given his popularity at the time.

I can't believe for over 20 years I have heard the lyrics "And babe, I want you" as "And they phoned you" which would make sense in that context. Also, does "There's never no-one home" mean "There's never anyone home" as in he's always out or "There's always someone home" but he won't pick up the phone?
