Only one more week 'til the reissues! I booked a day off work...just to fetch & listen...
Anyone know anything about the Peel sessions lp release date? Or who has done any sleevenotes/whatever?
Then of course we're expecting Jarvis' album, and Koko...
It's an expensive time! Anything on the Running The World physical release? Want some bsides!
Who else is going to Koko? So looking forward to it. Is anyone off to Paris? (sadly I can't make Paris...)
If I have enough money left after the reissues, I might get tickets to The Long Blondes at Mean Fiddler, Oct 17 I think...anyone off to that? Oh, & their new single is out on Oct 23, too.
What time are the last trains out of London roughly? Last time I went there was Placebo in '04...
The Peel Sessions album is down for the 9th of October - though it's best to expect a delay as us Pulp fans should know by now... No word of a tracklisting. If its 2CD as advertised they will need to pad it out with other Beeb sessions or live songs broadcast on JP's show - Glasto '94, his 60th birthday, or Live From Birmingham Acadamy WLL Tour Halloween 2001.
RE The Long Blondes - some news sources are claiming that the album was produced by Steve, others saying it was some other bloke. Anyone know for sure?
Edit (or not!), I've just seen this posted on Hawley's site:
Record Collector mentions the Peel Sessions release: The Pulp 2-CD contains studio sessions and Peel in Concert performances between 1993 and 2001.
What I'm really wanting to know is (a) whether it'll also include sessions recorded for other BBC radio shows, and (b) whether (given the above dates) it will include the very first Peel session...
...Turkey Mambo Mama, anyone?
It would be a real shame if they decided not to bother with the '81 session.
