A Beginners Guide to Pulp
(Preview)
A few years ago, a friend asked me to make him up a compilation CDR of Pulp because he'd heard something on the radio (presumably "Common People") and wanted to investigate further. I don't copy commercially available material for anyone so I played him some songs in the car and told him to g...

How many songs will they play at the NME awards?
(Preview)
Based on previous sets, when the Specials won 'outstanding contribution' in 2010, they played just one song. Likewise PJ Harvey in 2011. So is just gonna be the one song? Common People? Sorted? Disco 2000? Which is it to be? My money's on Disco 2000.

Pulp collections
(Preview)
I was wondering how many singles and things like that you guys own or concert tickets or maybe like just a piece of paper Jarvis or the band signed. I've only been listening to Pulp for a year and a half and I was really young when they were at the height of their fame but I've gathered up a decent amount in the...

FIGHT!
(Preview)
This has been covered before but not with A POLL! (I think) So which is your favourite? Glory Days or Cocaine Socialism? And if the question on the tip of your tongue is 'which version of Cocaine Socialism?' - the answer would be your favourite version of Cocaine verses the album version of Glory Days.

I Scrubbed The Crabs That Killed Sheffield

Just to let those of you who've not been following every thread obsessively know that recently some kind (yet anonymous) soul uploaded a copy of the above song to the Bar Italia 2007 account. Wonderful news for those of us who never had it, and maybe it'll help persuade someone else to be similarly anon...

Fire reissue update

(Preview)
Have a look over here - not much news, except a nice 1991 photo that I'd not seen before and an interesting addition to the tracklisting of It. Apparently they've now gone back to the original master tapes, baked and remastered them to a high standard. I've heard a preliminary MP3 of the single version o...

Will Steve Havenhand Finally Get a Credit?
(Preview)
Well, wil he? He plays the bass on Death Comes to Town doesn't he? I noticed that on the free CD that came with Beats Working for a Living the bass is credited to Steve Mackay. I've never really understood why Havenhand doesn't get some songwriting credit for all those Separations songs he was involved w...

We Love Life Deluxe/Unreleased Songs Petition

We Love Life is ten this week. I know it's an album that tends to divide opinion on here but the few unreleased demoed songs we've heard seem to get a positive reaction. It's the one period of Pulp where quite an amount of unreleased material remains locked away. Over the months, probably years (since t...
