I've only booked accommodation for one night but can arrive earlier or leave later the next day if puffins are on the menu (not litrilly. I wouldn't...)
After giving up home of seeing the band altogether I managed to snag a couple of Neighbourhood tickets for the Sunday, so feeling very excited to catch the band one more time, for what will most likely be the final time. Extra sweet that the day after is a bank holiday!
Nice work! I was sniffing around Blur tickets again yesterday, which are still easily available. My brain obviously suppressed the earlier shock of how much theyd cost. Real pity, because (stadium gig aside) it would have been a great couple of weeks in July, bookended by two mighty Pulp outings. Blur were class in Hyde Pk too, and the crowd really into it

As I am at Arsenal Stadium for Arctic Monkeys and Finsbury Park for Pulp the previous weekends, currently giving blur a miss at the moment. Been a long time since I saw blur live. 20th century at Brixton
I'm starting wonder if they could play the infamous legends slot at Glastonbury. Roxy Music were tipped, but are now looking less likely according to GlastoFeedFest.
The slot is usually solo artists, but not always, ELO played it (badly) around 2016.
Likely to be Early March for the first poster, but that is normally incomplete and doesn't show stages. The Legends and various Pyramid headliners are usually announced earlier.
I think I may have completely fucked up my accomdtion though!
As everything was expensive/booked/tents/caravans
I got cocky & saw the last train from Brid to Hull is at 1105 & booked a nice appartment for 2 of us to stay at inin Hull.
I suspect we will miss that train and now looking at taxis at around £50 -£100 (still cheaper than staying in Brid!)
So... if anyone needs help with accom... or whatever... i may just end up driving down & driving hyem to Newcastle or any solotions or any thoughts .... post them my way :)
First tranche of Glastonbury names announced this morning. No mention of Pulp. A secret set again? Maybe they don't want to add anything more that hasn't been agreed, without Steve.
Yeah I guess so. Theres some speculation that theres another poster drop in April
Happening as Queens of the The Stone Age where originally in the guardian article publishing the line up (but was quickly removed this morning)
Maybe they were held back for a later drop out of respect considering yesterdays awful news.

Try twickets rather than viagogo. A lot of fake tickets on viagogo. You might need to buy another ticket when you arrive. Probably easier to fly to London and catch a train.

Yes, don't pay silly prices. Dublin is the cheapest ticket and the only one show not to sell out yet. Price of accommodation the only downside.
I was hoping to stay with your folks down in Kilkenny
I am waiting to see who plays in the Munster Hurling final and as importantly where it is before I decide. Potentially could get an overnight bus to Cork after the gig (1am) and just stay there until Sunday.
Richard is supporting in Dublin too. Maybe you could get a cheap flight from Dublin to somewhere near Sheff in the UK and I'm sure locals on here would help put together a list of places to see and experience.
I wonder what he means by "deep cuts". I can't see them performing songs like "Back in LA" or "My Lighthouse" at a festival (imagine?). There are some songs from "This is Hardcore" such as "Seductive Barry", that haven't been performed for around 25 years so this could be what he's referring to.
The ones I'd like to see them perform are "Deep Fried in Kelvin", "It's a Dirty World" and "The Professional" (with uncensored lyrics). Here's to hoping.
I'm tempering expectations i.e any non-DC album tracks. I think Hardcore and Life will get a good airing though.
This is how I'd break down my expectations:
Definites
Common People, Disco 2000, DYRTFT?, Babies, This Is Hardcore
Near-certainties
Sorted, Something Changed, Underwear, A Little Soul, Sunrise
Probables
Mis-Shapes, I Spy, Help the Aged, Party Hard
I'd suggest these songs will provide the core of the setlists, and then there will be a pool of others that they pull from. That might not be the method by which they rehearse/choose songs, but I think after the shows are all over, it'll look like that.
Pool candidates
Razzmatazz, Joyriders, Pink Glove, Pencil Skirt, Live Bed Show, F.C.L, Monday Morning, Bar Italia, The Fear, Glory Days, Like A Friend, Weeds, Birds in Your Garden, Bad Cover Version
Other songs
A couple of deep cuts will be aired. I Want You, Countdown, My Legendary Girlfriend, O.U, Acrylic Afternoons, She's A Lady, Happy Endings, Mile End, Dishes, TV Movie, Sylvia, Laughing Boy, Minnie Timperley, and The Trees are all candidates, though it wouldn't surprise me if only 3 or 4 of those are actually played.
Also potential for some I haven't mentioned. Something from 'It' may pop up. I'd expect Sex City to be played in Sheffield. If Cuckoo happens, Park Hill won't be the only ones to [redacted] in unison...
Other thoughts
They might have decided they don't like Mis-Shapes again. Also, it's a real shame they've never nailed down Lipgloss live. It really should be a live staple - as the lead single to their breakthrough album, and such a popular tune of theirs - but shorn of Russell, it's perhaps understandable, with the riff being fiddly and Ed Buller's production creating such a specific sound. Would be nice, though - if you're reading, Pulp, then please, pretty please?
A couple of old lyrics here and there have not aged so well - not sure how well Razzmatazz fits with the new body positivity era - but it's Razzmatazz, so jettisoning it would be tantamount to heresy. No chance of Anorexic Beauty or Aborigine though!
I do think there is a chance Help the Aged could be omitted. Yes, they're all firmly middle-aged now - so the track is a bit tongue-in-cheek, it would make sense to play it - but the Steve news paints a bit of a different light over the whole thing now. I reckon it'll still be aired, but not consistently. Depends how 'up for it' Jarvis feels.
Speaking of which... I can imagine a song being dedicated to him specifically - it feels a bit wrong to speculate - with visuals of Steve behind the band; maybe Hardcore, or a ballad like Something Changed (or something from We Love Life). Of course they'll pay tribute in the way they feel most appropriate, tasteful, etc... Icould also, generally, imagine a little more reflective-sounding set than the 2011-12 reunion, with more balladry and less sex-pop, especially given the fact they're all a bit older now.
In reality, of course, we'll gratefully lap up whatever they give us!

well, i ordered a ticket for july 15th on stubhub. fingers crossed that it's the real deal. just booked a roundtrip to manchester. planning to do 2 nights there, and 2 nights in sheffield. who'd like to be my travel agent???? hit me with everything. i know nothing. been dying to visit these 2 cities for decades!!!!
Well, I capitulated to impatience and got hold of a couple of TRNSMT day tickets. Very excited for Pulp! (although the rest of the bill is absolute dross, whoever thought George Ezra and Niall Horan were worthy of a slot had to be kidding themselves)
Thoughts on the designs, folks? The tea caddy is a fun trinket... Also the best t-shirt design (the "i'll see what i can do" t-shirt) has a bad colour scheme - you can't see the bloody text!
Just read his message...wow, he's touting more gigs if you scream loud enough. He must be living off the adrenaline this summer, lucky bastard. Imagine if he had to crunch numbers all day like me... doesn't know he's born...
I can't go to Sheff show on Saturday anymore, so if anyone needs a ticket let me know. It's seated but in the lower tier. Don't need face value - just a bit to cover my train and a bit of the hotel I can't get a refund for.
I thought I was unable to go, so have been avoiding all talk of these shows as was a bit depressing to think about. But suddenly I have a ticket for Sheffield on Friday!
Hi folks! I've been keeping a spreadsheet of this tour's setlists, so feel free to have a gawp here if that's the kind of thing you're into: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14u2Odei8sFyprPNtkpQpHFHy1nk2OUOBXnVPAqz_Cpw/edit?usp=sharing
lovely work, Ive done the same thing just on spotify if anyone's fancying saving the playlists to their library https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6qcrqPAXpKnfiqAAqtpSCU?si=4f65b23d795c422c Sheffield Arena 15 july. all the setlists will be on my profile if you click it and you can just find whichever you like. anyway, time for bed
Seetickets are putting more Hammersmith tickets on sale today (Tues July 18th) at 5pm.
Having reconciled myself to not going, I am tempted. Though having being in the circle for the Ziggy Stardust premiere recently I am not paying £100 to sit up there. Suspect it will only be seats.
Pay it over 3 months with PayPal. That's what I do sometimes. Can't believe they're luring me into more gigs on the same tour. Free will with Pulp don't exist.

That's unbelievable tempting.
Unfortunately, factoring in travel costs, I don't think I can quite justify it this time...
There's a very real chance I've seen Pulp for the final time - but I never expected to see them ever, never mind twice!
His next tweet states "Its only a hardcore music box you can treasure for ever. Turning the little handle to hear a spooky plink plonk version of our beloved Hardcore. Its ace.
Oh, btw. This is the FIRST bit of pulp news I have for you.what in heavens name could possibly top that??"
Seems like every day that goes by its less likely that NA dates will be added alongside those SA dates this fall. Would they really travel to SA and not do at least 2-3 USA dates?
Certainly possible. I'm not sure that they fit the vibe of Coachella in the present day. It does make sense for them to play festivals here though, but they seem like more of a fit for our late summer or fall festivals like ACL or Riot Fest.
I think it would seem likely they expand their SA dates as it seems like a lot of work to fly everyone across the pond for 4 shows.

I think that this round of shows have been so special because they're finally healing those wounds from 2002.
The reunion of 2011-12 was a success but it clearly had stresses of its own and part of that was just proving and believing that they could go out and do it again. Things had fizzled out so sadly in 2002 - they didn't know that anyone would still want them - ultimately those reunion shows, while successful, were only a step on the road to moving on from the traumas the group sustained from 1996-2002.
Now it's different and it's felt like technicolour and celebratory and wow! I'm so glad it's been going so well so far. Undercut by sadness, of course, but Pulp shows will always be. Looking forward to 2024, hoping for a USA show for Dorian and that, as well as other places round the world, they come back to the UK again.
