Jarvis On The Front Cover Of The Next NME?

Someone's put up an NME cover with JC staring out bold as brass on JarvSpace. I thought it might be a Photoshop job but the current NME claims that next (this) week's edition will have info on the album - it would tie in with the details that were released on nme.com today.

If so, fcuking fantastic! I know many people detest the NME and it's hard to know who it's target audience is these days but they (and Uncut and Q and most of the press) seem to be pushing his solo move. The summer of 2001 I think was the last time he had the front cover all to himself.

Well, it looks correct enought.
The image is located on the nme.com-site with name "coverJarvis 300906"

The title is:
"I don't like careerists.
I like people who mess up?"
JARVIS
16 life lessons from an indie legend

I bought the NME today - Jarvis hogging the front with quotes from Noel Gallagher to the side, it was like 1995 again...

To be honest I was a bit disappointed with the article. I'd feared that it wasn't a conventional interview thingy when seeing the '16 life lessons from an indie legend' on the front and so it proved. It's still a good read - 5 pages with Jarvis dispensing advice about the hazards of mixing red wine and cider and being grumpy about people like Razorlight (always a good thing) and other stuff. Basically a chance for him to ramble on a bit about whatever. Good entertainment (though Christ knows what the emo fans think of it) but for the eager fan seeking news on the solo album, well he didn't give much away. The shorter article from an interview he gave the NME in April was much more insightful. Then I suppose he'll be doing enough promo work for the lp in the coming weeks.

He has been very secretive about it though isn't he? Apart from 'Running The World' there's been very few mentions of the solo album from JC himself - even on his myspace page he's been quite guarded.

What was revealed - well he did say that a saxaphone features on one of the songs. The first confirmed title of any of the tracks is called 'Big Julie' (that's from memory, I may be wrong). On the lyrical front, well it sounds intriguing...one song apparently deals with being murdered by fat children (Frightened-The Fear-?) and another about the Yorkshire Ripper hoaxer. Surely full details will be released soon - the release date is barely a month and a half away.
