Apologies if this has already been well documented but I couldn't find any mention of it - I've spent a lovely day listening through the three reissues, but am curious as to why there isn't also a We Love Life deluxe?
Anybody know any rumours or plans in that regard?

I presume it was thought that not enough time has passed for it to be re-evaluated. Or maybe cos it didn't sell very many.

However the fact that Scott Walker produced it and that there's a wealth of stuff Universal could stick on the second cd gives me hope that it will one day be reissued.

Record companies like to make money.

If the bargain bin at my local Virgin Megastore is any indication, then I'm guessing Island still has a whole warehouse full of unsold copies of Hits and WLL.

Dare I say it, but I'm hoping these re-issues fill a warehouse or two and then I can pick them up out of the bargain bin.

After all, £40 for these * Previously unavailable tracks - though I do have the ones in italics in some form, and I dispute how unavailable they were.

  1. Ansaphone (demo)*
  2. Paula (demo)*
  3. Catcliffe Shakedown (demo)*
  4. We Can Dance Again (demo)*
  5. Don't Lose It (demo)*
  6. Whisky in the Jar (French only b-side)
  7. Disco 2000 (Nick Cave Pub Rock Version)* - Same as B-side of Bad Cover Version?
  8. Cocaine Socialism (‘proper’ version of b-side)*
  9. It's a Dirty World (recording session outtake)*
  10. Tomorrow Never Dies (rough mix)*
  11. Can I Have my Balls Back, Please? (demo)*
  12. Modern Marriage (demo)*
  13. My Erection (demo)*
  14. You Are The One (demo)*
  15. Street Operator (demo)*
  16. Live On (BBC Mark Goodier Session)*
  17. You're not Blind (demo)*
  18. Space (BBC Hit The North Session soundcheck)*
  19. The Boss (demo)*
  20. Watching Nicky (demo)*
  21. Frightened (demo)*
  22. You're a Nightmare (BBC John Peel Session)* - Same as B-side of Lip Gloss?

I'll save my cash for the Peel Sessions CD.

It would of been nice and tidy to have We Love Life as well.

People only have so much money and considering it was their last release. I think it would be the last to be bought out of the list, ending in poorer sales I guess.

You're A Nightmare is the same as the one from Lipgloss. Disco 2000 is an *entirely different* Nick Cave cover than the one on the Bad Cover Version CD.
