So if you could see pulp live and they would play any songs you wanted in the set list what would you choose? After some thought I had the following tracks:
The Fear Do you Remember the First time The Night That Minnie Timperley Died Bad Cover Version Weeds Mis Shapes I'm a Man Lipgloss Acrylic Afternoons Sorted for E's and Wizz I Love Life Wickerman Bar Italia Disco 2000
-- Live Bed Show This is Hardcore Pink Glove -- Dogs Are Everywhere My Legendary Girlfriend -- Glory Days Common People
So, then post yours!

"I thought so long and suddenly I realised,
I love Pulp!"
If it was a dream set, then they should play for over three hours with no support, especially when you consider that Pulp have about a dozen albums worth of material. With the set list I chose, I have heard them play all those live bar Countdown & MLG. So in theory, I could make up most of the gig for an MP3 player (there's a not so clever idea, as I know what I'll do now).
A few years ago Julian Cope did a three hour set at Shepherd's Bush Empire which was a great gig. My missus (to be) came along and she hadn't really heard too much of him, but was amazed at how entertaining he was over the three hours. Capped it all off with a stunning rendition of Reward (always save the best to last!).
I have no idea what Julian Cope does on stage, but I imagine it would take a herculean effort do what Jarvis does for 3 hours. Have you ever tried to sing along to an entire Pulp album at full volume? Those songs can be quite demanding on the vocal chords. And then of course, there are Jarv's patented stage antics, all that flailing and running around. Maybe if there were another singer in the group they could pull it off?
I once saw a video of a Pearl Jam concert that was 3 hours long, but Eddie Vedder spent most of that time sitting on his stool.
Pulp have enough slow ballads in their catalogue that I suppose they could come up with a low-impact setlist, but I'll take an energetic 90 minutes over 3 hours of subpar Jarvis plucking at his accoustic guitar.

Err, no. Maybe Julian just does better drugs.

Is three hours such a long time for a gig? I know a few artists have done it (Spingsteen, Clash) , and some are quite energetic (like St. Julian). As a one off dream gig, I don't think it's unfeasible, and I don't think it would be Jarvis plucking away at a guitar. Crikey, it's a dream set list, Jarvis can sleep for two day solid after it if needs be.

Just getting one of those at RAH would be as much as you can ever dream of
I would love, love, love to hear "Seconds," but I don't know if it would work without Russell. You really need the interplay between the Farfisa and plucked violin in the verses.

If we get a dream set list, we might as well have a dream line up
The one or two dodgy live recordings of Seconds that exist, from spring '94, show how a great song could have been made even better in studio. Russell arpeggiates the notes in the chorus and there seems to be an echo effect on it too. Sounds fantastic.
I went to see them at Brixton last year and they managed to fit in 20 songs in a 2 hour setlist. They then went to Mexico and sang 24 songs in a 2.5 hour show, so I am hoping for similar things for the home coming gig!!
My dream pulp setlist:

If you didn't come to party then why did you come?
But seriously, anything with O.U. in it would please me (which is why I was so mad they played it at all their U.S. shows except NYC). And if it was Separations-heavy as well. Seconds would be stellar to see live.

I would like to see a set that touches on all or most eras and I don't like encores - just one straightforward set as follows:
Sunrise (seemed to be the "big" song of their 2000-2002 sets so I think it would be a good one to start off with nowadays as they did with "Common People" in 2000) Weeds Party Hard Glory Days (three fast crowd-pleasers before slowing it down a bit) Live Bed Show (as per V96) She's Dead (as insane as this might sound, I would chop the last minute off and it would sit well alongside the other slow songs without dragging on for too long) Something Changed Sorted (well it had to be in there somewhere!) FEELINGCALLEDLOVE (as per Edinburgh 2000) I Spy Mis Shapes Common People Razzmatazz (three singles in a row to get everyone in the mood before the last few songs) This Is Hardcore Sylvia Goodnight (totally out of the blue but a perfect closer if you ask me)
