i think there's a good chance he will. he's not the sort to want to screw his audience by playing a shortish set, and obviously there's no bad will over the pulp hiatus/split, and the pulp songs are so clearly his songs lyrically that i can quite easily see him doing a few.

I don't think there will be any Pulp songs.  Whenever an artist goes solo they tour with all the new stuff.  But then a few years down the line they start to delve into the back catalogue.

Expect a run through of the new album. And little else.

Richard Ashcroft did preform The Verve songs in the beginning of his solo carreer.

Jarvis didn't do any Pulp or Relaxed Muscle.  The gig was a run through of the album (with one new song) and an encore of Cnuts & Space Oddity.

Can you tell us some more about the gig? Who were in the band and stuff?

I thought it would be best to reflect on the gig before writing anything.    My friend who came with me found it totally underwhelming, and though I enjoyed it, I knew what he meant. It started off well with Fat Children and Don't Let Him Waste Your Time, but then, dare I say it, got a little dull and samey.  Jarvis was more entertaining than the songs themselves.  No one was jumping or dancing or that enthused around us (we were next to the little bar to the left of the stage, so about 30-40 feet from the stage) as I guess no one knew the songs.

There was this sense that everyone was waiting for the odd Pulp song which may have livenend things up, but it didn't happen.  At the encore after playing Cunts, Jarvis teased everyone by saying they were going to play an oldie.  As everyone perked up and got excited, he announced they were going to play Space Oddity.  You could sense the collective sigh.  And though it was a pretty decent rendition, he then departed from the stage and the lights went up and there was a sense of disappointment.

I'd never been there before, but Koko is a bit of a nook and cranny venue, and with numerous balconies.  I'm not entirely sure who was on stage because from my position on the dance floor, I saw little more than Jarvis's torso.  Good job he's tall!  He did introduce the band, but I didn't catch it properly.  He said Candida was on stage, but I couldn't see her!

For a Jarvis/Pulp fan last night was a welcome return, and having heard the album a couple of times, as good a concert as I expected. Once upon a time, Jarvis asked the audience at the nearby Forum if they were here to spectate or participate.  Last night, I spectated.  And so did most of the audience.
