There are rumblings across t'internet that James Ford is helming a new compilation album for the War Child charity, 30 years on from the original record. Of course Pulp didn't take part in that due to scheduling (I think?) but then donated their Mercury Prize winnings to the organisation.
It's usually new/unreleased material that features on these comps. Have Pulp finished something from the More sessions or done something else new for it... ? I guess we'll find out soon. It is quite a nice feeling that Pulp are very much "active" ie not just doing an album, touring and buggering-off. Feels like they're properly engaged pop-royalty for the first time since the 90s!
"The War Child Records Instagram account currently follows just 13 other accounts: Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Beck, Damon Albarn, Fontaines D.C., Graham Coxon, Kae Tempest, Arooj Aftab, Young Fathers, The Last Dinner Party and English Teacher. James Ford is the only producer followed."
