An unusual poster. For an unusual festival. For an unusual performance. Pulp have never performed at @EOTR but that will change soon. This will not be a typical Pulp show: it will be... unusual. Expect the unexpected. In a good way.
Pissed me off a little this. The "only" performance being Wythenshaw, yet this is announced two days later. What's gonna be unusual? I suspect a strange set list is going to get played.
Im not complaining, but I am moaning, but I've spent a lot of money on the band since 2023 and they don't make it easy with these announcements. J also know that it's my choice but give us a chance to understand what's going on.
Surely it's not a surprise they've done this! There were absolutely loads of caveats in the Manchester announcement - "Wythenshawe Park will be one of **very few** opportunities for fans to see Pulp perform live in 2026, and the only chance to see them play **outdoors** **in the north of England** next year."
I don't think they'd have worded it like that if they weren't planning to play festivals down south and probably some arena dates.

No, you're right but it's choosing the right one to go to and how long should I wait for future announcements that does my head in.
When they say unusual I'm wondering would it ever be a case that they might do an acoustic set seeing as their Tiny Desk performance was so well received. If this is a smaller festival could that be what's going to be 'unusual'. And maybe the 'major' label for the Manc show is due to it perhaps going to be on the same scale as the huge production we've had this year and in 2023.

I agree it could be a more stripped back show. Which I would love to go to. But £327 for a weekend camping ticket along with parking (£32) and travel would make this well over £700 for two of us, even if I could persuade Mrs. ArrGee to spend a night in a tent (highly unlikely). Spent far less in total going to Budapest last weekend. Tickets for 22 Euro for football!
That's true enough. Easier if you rule out going to bloody Manchester!
Easy enough for me to rule both out. £325 to camp in Wiltshire in early September??? It will chuck it down there as well as Manchester.
Aside from Lido in London (and I am far from commited on that), I can't see myself with 20,000 people in a field next summer. A few festivals have already bitten the dust.
Plus you won't see a parrot scoring a hattrick at EOTR no matter how animal-friendly the setting is.
Maybe happens again in Dublin next March. Match ticket and hotel booked. Holding off on Prague as I only have 4 away credits and may not get a ticket for that.
That is an eye watering amount of money and there's no way that's gonna happen.
Yes. The lack of Glastonbury in 2026 may help smaller festivals but the price of EOTR isn't much less. And come the end of November after I get rinsed for tax, I could probably do with saving £700+.
EOTR and Green Man are the two best festivals in the country by a long stretch. Anyone a bit unsure about the festival thing will do well if they give this one a shot. £325 is half a trolley in Tesco and a tank of petrol these days

What is in your trolley? Foie gras and caviar? You should go to a supermarket and pretend you've got no money
Have to admit my last couple of weekends away in Paris and Budapest were eye openers. We ate out for relative peanuts. And four star hotels were less than 100 euro/night with breakfast for two. I wonder if it is similar for festivals. Might be better off going to Spain.
So, what would be too expensive for you, £600 ? We're all feckin broke!
Just prioritise. Intermittent fasting and no paid for tv, then blow out on fun stuff
I do the intermittent fasting regardless Not giving up pay TV. Not that I pay that much for it. Sssh!
I am spending a lot of fun stuff, but £700+ for a camping with a Pulp gig is more than two weekends in Paris and Budapest with slap up meals, football matches and a nice comfy bed. I do like pulp, but not that much . Anyway, I have to put a few pennies aside for my trip to USA next summer
Yes, intrigued to know what they're up to, with this unusual business. Not vaguely tempted to get a ticket, but all this is very encouraging of what Pulp are up to, and how enthusiastic they are about continuing. Surely we can forget swansong fears now.
