Has it ever been established why "Party Hard" is different on the single as opposed to the album? Some Pulp songs sound slightly different on the singles due to the mastering but they are still the same songs. "Party Hard", however, has definitely been altered; it is faster, the vocals are higher in the mix and the final "Ah, ah, ah" is removed at the very end.
I have just done a side by side comparison and I would say that the single version sounds more natural. Is it a similar situation to "Cocaine Socialism" where an earlier version was used? Or did they simply tweak it for single release and forget to mention it on the sleeve?
Does anyone have their Pulp Peoples handy? I seem to remember a reference to it being remixed and sounding better than the album version, but can't check. It's not mentioned in Truth & Beauty...
