About 25 years ago, I made some unofficial remixes of Pulp material. Sadly, these were lost on an old hard-drive.
Well, I had a couple of hours spare earlier so thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and have another go. I did use AI to separate some vocals and instrumentals out. You can certainly tell I'm not a professional remixer!
These are remixes of commercially available material so for that reason, I have saved them as low quality mp3 files and and am only sharing them here so that people can roast my [lack of] remixing skills:

They're interesting, and better than what I could ever do! I went in wondering how HTA could be extended, and it was seamless to my ears, same for Dirty World. Not listened to Being Followed Home for a long long time, and it brought on a lot of nostalgia: it always brings to mind Morecambe around The Carleton nightclub area, but that's just based on my Lancaster Uni years when I first started digging into the older Pulp stuff.
That Live Bed Show vs Suffocate was hilarious, fascinating, annoying and scary in equal measure. Like AI, except not as depressing. Actually, the lyrics for both songs are quite desperate and depressing...
You sure like the "Funny how it all falls away" bit in Help The Aged...is that a nod to its crowd-engagement on the recent tour?
Good work on Dirty World. I will never get M.Webber's loathing of it. With your edit, we're talking about a hit in the summer of '97 that stays in the top twenty for a whole month!
I originally made "Being Followed Home" and "Help the Aged" years ago and possibly shared them on an earlier incarnation of this forum but they were since lost. These versions were completed from memory the other day so the repeated "Funny how it all falls away" line originated over 20 years ago.
I did something with "Party Hard" years ago but can't remember what. Now that AI can do a reasonable job of separating out a vocal, I decided that it was a good idea to put vocals over some of the never-ending instrumental parts of the Stretch and Vern remix.
"It's a Dirty World" is a brand new effort based on discussions on this forum.
Back in the day, someone pointed out that there are vague similarities between "Live Bed Show" and "They Suffocate at Night". This was my attempt to see how it would sound using the instrumental from one and the vocals from the other. I think that the verses work ok but the chorus really does sound out of place.
Anyway, these weren't as badly received as I thought so maybe next time I have a spare hour, I can attempt something else. I did think about an extended version of "Weeds" the other day...
