Why are you doing this on Twitter in 2025? We have Bluesky now, there's zero excuse.
Firstly, the amount of Pulp fans on Bluesky is sparse to say the least. I'd really prefer to do it there, but the people just don't seem to be there. I post there every now and again and it's...quiet. Most likes I've ever had anything is 11, compared to 1400 over on Twitter, for the exact same album announcement. I'm not in it for the likes but you do kind of need there to be people on the other end who'll actually engage. Plus, I can't take credit for the idea anyway - it started with Pulp Mexico getting in touch with me with the idea of doing Twitter listening parties.
Having said that, not sure I'll stay on Twitter for all that long anyway. My algorithm doesn't show me neo-Nazi bluetick stuff (thank goodness) but the site is just unusable nowadays - it keeps breaking down basically daily now, losing basic functionality, and if you misclick, it forces you onto its AI app, yeuch. I know Nick's already migrated off Twitter, though Mark is still there and using it, as are some of the new members. I don't think it can last long at the moment, given that the detestable Elon is reportedly haemorrhaging money, I think they'll end up making it so that you have to pay to use it (in which case, BYE BYE). And I guess I do kind of feel a bit of resentment too, not letting Musk ruin it for me, not wanting him and his deranged fanboys who regularly tweet about wanting to kill and deport people like me and my friends to actually get us off the app and retreat into bubbles. But I dunno. It might be too much now really. Before this week I'd already been using it less and less. It's not a very nice place.
Not that I feel I have to give excuses, but there you go.

I've tried posting from my phone. That's what happened.
Looks like my apostrophes have been retained. Possibly a setting on your phone or browser. Not sure what you're using but I use Vivaldi on Android. Does it just happen with this forum?

Just this forum unfortunately. Ill even go back and edit and it still keeps removing them. Some greater conspiracy to make it seem like I dont understand punctuation

I noticed while posting a quote from an article, all the apostrophes - which looked like smart apostrophes - were replaced with the ascii missing char symbol. I used preview, and removed them. Hmm. I should try to find the clip and post it here instead of posting.
As a song like Hymn Of The North spirals heavenward, ****ers bandmates and collaborators give his voice a resonance that it hasnt had since that last Pulp album. They understand who they are and what they do. On More, I hear Pulp embracing their own greatness. After all these years, theyve tapped right back into all the beautiful, ineffable things about Pulp the sneaky insights, the charged-up banter, the lux atmosphere, the anthemic scope, the emotional weight that comes through even when they try to disguise it with cleverness. Once again, a legendary band has returned to us with another miracle. OK, I've seen the preview of this, it looks like the attached image. I have no idea how it'll look until I post. So they might be missing... Article's from here - hope that might help Ian/Tricia
Edit: I guess it seems likely smart apostrophes (and likely quotes) cause it. Posted on desktop with a Chromium based browser
