I voted for "Got to Have Love". As "Spike Island" has been met with universal acclaim, I think that this would be the most logical choice to keep the momentum going.
I have never thought of "Farmers Market" as a single but they could go down that route: "Everybody loved our last single and we know that they are going to buy the album so let's release a ballad instead"
First thing I thought of when I heard a half decent live recording of Background Noise was how much I hoped to hear it recorded properly, so voted for that. There are still a good handful - or most, I guess - I haven't heard in similar quality though, but waiting for the album before giving them a go. Not sure Got To Have Love is single material; I'm not a massive fan of the version we already have.
(Footnote: the last time I remember sitting down to actively listen to a brand new, mostly unheard album was when I got TIH while at college, having heard almost nothing from it. I remember it like it was yesterday, getting some time alone led on the sofa with none of my family around to bug me was just too good)
(Second footnote: I had forgotten how editing posts was so finicky here with linebreaks!)

I'm not *that* keen on Got To Have Love but I know it's just one of those songs that I'm not that fussed on but most other people think is great, so I'm going with that (assuming there'd be a single edit).
I purposely didn't watch too many mobile phone recordings if the new stuff so that the recorded versions would be my definitive versions. Background Noise is probably an instant single. Farmers Market, i can't really remember (I think i only listened to it once). Ive been very good so far at saving myself as I didn't with WLL & regretted it ever since.
I don't think there will be one now. The physical release of Spike Island has taken its window. And no one releases singles these days once the album is out.
Fair point. That said, I think that there is an opportunity for a single on 30th May. I don't really pay much attention to the charts any more but the 7" one week, another single the next then the album the week after would be a good way to build up some momentum.
Also, I may be wrong but I think that Blur released "Barbaric" as a single after the album so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.
Didn't the Spike video end with a "To be continued" message? Maybe it was a comment on grappling with AI but I'd hope that another Pulp song goes to radio this summer and we get a creative and less controversial video.
Spike Island is a solid return but there may be something "More" that's stronger yet still has commercial appeal.

I think I clicked on Got To Have Love but now I think it would be a very odd choice as the bones of it are what 28/29 years old now? I do love it though

Well the Beatles did release a 500 year old single, so why not !
To me, as long as song has not been released before, the artist can do whatever they want with it.
it's their big come back, I bet on 3 singles, so the next ones are Got to have love AND Background Noise
Singles don't exist any more. Now there are just 'drops' of tracks to encourage album pre-sales. And there won't be 2 more 'drops' in the next 21 days, especially not with Spike Island physical out in 7 days.
