Not followed the leaks, but I have largely loved what I've heard from the BBC2 and BBC6 and Jools shows.
[edited for spoilers for my opinions on those new songs they played there. I don't know how spoiler strict you've been here - I haven't caught up enough!]
Got To Have Love was worth waiting 25 years for. I don't believe I ever listened to the leaked instrumental- I was also saving the WLL off-cuts for future listens. Never got around to it!
As for my thoughts on the rest of the tracks, you can - bizarrely and hilariously - listen to them at 8am tomorrow on BBC Radio Sheffield, where I will be among five fans getting a 7am listen to the record, and then giving our thoughts!
Definitely one of my more random Pulp adventures. Should be a good laugh, although I've never done anything like this before in a long, long time. Been interviewed on local radio for music what I have done, but it's easier to pull that stuff off. Tune in and hear me flounder!

Went into my nearest JB Hi-Fi this morning to pick it up but to my dismay it had sold out in the 90 minutes between looking it up online and going in. Not just that store too, all the JBs around me burnt through their stock in an hour and a half.
I guess that's in me for not pre-ordering but great to see people here still care about the band!
album out everywhere but I've got to wait one day more to put my hands on it, not fair, Life. Not fair.
no youtube, no social media, the longest day of my life begins.
I paid for fast delivery from Rough Trade but they're saying Monday delivery now, fuggsake... What's JBHifi and how can you be surrounded by so many of them?!

It's Jack Black and his really cool room of sound systems that you stand in the centre of.
Really it's the last real chain in Aus that sells CD's and Vinyl. I should've just gone to one of the local record shops and supported local business. Lesson learned!

"On sale at the bands merch stands at each venue, the Tour Edition vinyl edition of the album, that comes with a bespoke commemorative ticket, is only available at the venue where it was purchased. Only 250 copies will be sold at each show.
A special Sheffield edition of the album is available in select record shops across the city this week."
Someone out there is going to have about 50 copies of this record, and why not.

I'm glad I don't collect vinyl or I'd be pocketless at this point.
Popping to the shops later so will see if I can pick up the CD, just this once I wanted to go old school for this one and buy it off a shelf, just like the old days.
4 listens in now. I should be going to bed but I just cant! I literally ran up Ann Street. Up came the shutter of Rockinghorse and down I went. Not sure if its an age-related thing but I was really aware of being in this moment > being on the train and going to buy a new Pulp album. Could this happen again?? Never been more excited to receive a free tote bag. Like good conference swag that you get - pen / note book.
I had to look that up, and given it looks to be a reference by and about my people I'm surprised I have never heard it... no palaver, but there is normally much palare by Canal Street just down the road :)
didnt know, James Ford was sick during the recording of the album, maybe that's why some of the track sound different ? anyone got the CD already with all the producing credits ?

Three of the copies I bought from the Rough Trade Pulp webstore - the '1st edition', 'Ink Spot', 'Audiophile 2xLP' - are supposed to come with an MP3 download of the album. I've received no links by email, and there are no download cards/codes with the LP's. Just wondered if anyone here knew what the process is.
Pedantic to ask I suppose, since I've obsessively bought 8 physical copies of More, I don't really need a download, but if you've paid for it you should get it, right? There are already another 2 copies - the instore crystal white label, and the tour exclusive - but I must not buy more More.
I rather like how the 1995 cut-out figures in the artwork are almost the same size on the CD as they are on the LP (where they are proportionately smaller on the landscape). It's like that lady in Doctor Who: 73 Yards: you can just about make out their faces, but not quite, on each format. The word 'Pulp' is also roughly the same size.
It all falls apart on the back cover: the proportions are the same on both, so the 9 members of 2025 Pulp are tiny on CD but reasonably-sized on LP.
Someone in the design team must have thought about this.
I've had a lot going on in my life lately and to have the consistent love of Pulp and to go into this album this week, something I've dreamed of for so long it all still feels just a bit weird like it's not really happening.
Whatever's been going on, I hope the universe is sorting it all out for you, lipglossed. New Pulp is a lovely distraction to have.
Thanks, Pip. You know... nothing serious, just a flesh wound. Cuckoos are silly birds etc...
On the plus side, got my degree back and been rather pleasantly surprised at least! I still remember finding this forum once in the university library when I was struggling to write an essay during 2nd year and got bored. (I ended up scrolling back into the 'archives' until 4am and I had to take out a coursework extension!)
Enjoyed AA's comparison of the versions of More on Instagram , reminded me to ask if anyone here knows - what IS Isha Kriya? Does that mean anything? If it's another pun, it's over my head.
