Agreed on Got to Have Love - that'd get my vote as the single!
Yeah, Tommy Tiernan is a good interviewer. It's a combination I'd love to see. There's a few musicians I'd love to see on that. I love that it's not the usual questions and never contrived because there's no prep.
So, looks like Divine Comedy are announcing a new album on Tuesday. Could be a happy week for the Venn Diagram crossover folk.
Where have you seen that?
Goodness its going to be an expensive week.
Not off to Paris too, are ya?
TDC's social media has a little video with the message being 08.04.25
WHATTTTT ? FINALLY (too) No way. What a week its gonna be.
And then a joint tour ?
Apparently the last DC message said it would be out late 2025. But did they all pushed their release forward because of Oasis reunion that will occupy the second part of the year ?

Absolutely, I am in the middle of the diagram but more towards the Pulp side. I think that this is the longest The Divine Comedy have gone without releasing an album so hopefully it will be a good one.

Its almost the same gap between the 2010 album "bang..." and the 2016 album "Foreverland". Six years. But Neil has released countless songs inbetween : box set, best of with an album worth of unreleased songs again. It doesn't feel like 6 years really.
I'm sure it will be a good one, i cant think of a bad album. Maybe Foreverland was a bit behind, but it felt like a throaway record before the risky "office politics". But still a very good record.

Thankfully not. I'm not sure how I'd explain to my wife that after doing that I've spent goodness knows what on whatever merch packages TDC and Pulp come up with.
New Pulp album, new Divine Comedy album and my team in the UCL quarters all in the same week? My teenage self would be in a state of excitement beyond anything else possible at that. All it'd need is a new version of Championship Manager and I'd have felt like I'd have completed life.
Looking forward to hearing the reports from the filming on Wednesday. Strange to think we've all be wanting this for so long and it could be about to drop any second now.
I don't think the single is coming tomorrow. Better this thursday (World Pulp Day) or friday just because it's friday and the day before the jonathan ross show. Who knows if shortly after the presentation??!?!?!?
Yes please. I'd do it but VPN doesn't work for the ITV live broadcast website. There are some alternative sites which works though. But better if someone from the UK can record it from the official web in order to have a better quality than other sites.
God, I absolutely despise Jonathan Ross. But he's where Pulp left off last time playing After You in 2013 so at least there's a pleasing symmetry to things.
I know!! So glad you got that - I know it will probably be up on You Tube and Tok Tik. I tried to include a VHS emoji but didnt display.
I wonder if a Later with Jools performance will be booked? Jools is still a thing right?
The landscape has changed so much around releasing a record. I hope they get a MOJO or Uncut or Record Collector cover. I still read those 'mens' magazines (being cheeky)

Later with Jools is still a thing for a few months of the year. Artists tend to only get to do one or two songs though, not like the three Pulp used to do when they appeared. There are other BBC shows, the Piano Room month they had recently featured folk like Franz Ferdinand doing a few songs with the BBC orchestra. The iplayer/streaming options allow for more coverage than TV-timed programmes so I'm sure they'll be getting a lot of online/radio and TV offers. Just depends on how much promo they can be arsed with or they agree on with Rough Trade.
An Uncut/Mojo special edition dedicated to Pulp like the ones they constantly revise and recycle of the usual suspects would be amazing.
But in fairness - Pulpwiki, Giles Acrylic, Sturdy's book and Weej's blog contains the level of detail and quality of writing that ensures Pulpheads have an embarrassment of riches close at hand when it comes to doing deep-dives on our heroes and heroine.
