Man, you're obsessed with things sounding like Pulp wink

There's probably a page on Pulpwiki with a list. I prefer when less obvious songs have been covered but I'm not sure there's many examples of that by "name" artists. I do really like

Divine Comedy's impromptu live version of Disco 2000

Franz Ferdinand - Misshapes and Sophie Ellis Bextor's DYRTFT renditions on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge are half-decent but not things I'd return to that often.

In 2011 ahead of their first reunion, Mark W organised a Pulp covers competition on the official website, I think it was called Pulptube. Lots of existing Pulp covers from YouTube were collated. I think a version of Babies was chosen as the winning entry and I remember a silly Hungarian (?) guy being commended for tackling She's A Lady. And I think he said in his book that he really liked that This Is Hardcore live version with no piano but brilliant guitars by Los Vaqueros Paganos, a Buenos Aires band.

In terms of studio recorded covers of Pulp by well-known artists, I can't really think of any. They're a difficult band to interpret - maybe because Jarvis' distinctive personality and vocal style is at the heart of most songs that he sings.

I'd like to hear Lana Del Rey have a go at something like A Little Soul or Seductive Barry. Maybe produced by Jack Antonoff...

Hi, Eamon! Thank you for your contributions!

And, yes, you are absolutely right: with experts like you and many others in this forum about absolutely everything about PULP, I'm afraid I can only dare to put the focus on collateral things surrounding them...hope its not considered too off-topic!

Can't agree more with  a Lana del Rey's version of "Seductive Barry"!

He could probably learn to play violin like Russell in less than a week. But it would take a lifetime to perfect the Senior "stare".

Judging from the lyrics sung, presumably they used the bootleg from the 1994 Drury Lane gig to learn the song.

It's ace isn't it. Scotty posted that here a few years back.

I trust you're already referencing this? https://www.pulpwiki.net/Pulp/CoverVersions#pulpsongcovers

& if you search the forum for "cover" there are various other posts...

I downloaded an MP3 of a solo acoustic cover of Razzmatazz by Luke Haines (billed as The Auteurs, but it's just him, on what sounds at the end like a French radio show) from Haines's website years ago.

Can't find any reference to this online now, but if anyone would like the MP3 I can email it, or perhaps someone can post it somewhere so others can hear it.

NB Haines clearly took the repeated instruction about not reading the lyrics whilst listening to the music to heart, as he makes frequent deviations.

Yes please - would like to hear that.

There's also this resource: cassettepirata.blogspot.com/2009/02/tribute-to-pulp-23-covers-2009.html... there are links in the comments.

I'd really like to hear the Cafe Electronique cover again, if anyone has that? It was shared on this site about 20 years ago!

I think Luke tried to include Razz on the deluxe edition of Now I'm A Cowboy, the second Auteurs record but Universal didn't let him or were charging too much.

Here's my contribution. Sure I've posted it before at some point. I always thought there was something about this performance (and the little lyric changes) that really draws out the poignancy in the song.  Sure some of the singing's a bit wayward but that's part of the charm!
