Sadly the intro and the first line of "I Spy" are missing, but otherwise it's the best quality I've seen so far.

(Big thanks to Hugo for his efforts!)

Surplus to requirements? Candida/Mark/Richard Jones all play keyboards/piano and there's no requirement for a harpist.

This, sadly, is why I don't think they'll do Acrylic Afternoons. They need a harpist for that.

I think Serafina was expecting a babby near the end of the last Jarv Is... activity. She may have wanted to scale-back and focus on her other work.

Her and Emma's band, Bas Jan, put out their second record at the end of last year, very enjoyable too.

Hahaha, they've left in Jarvis' bit about Trump! Amazon might be getting an angry letter from prison (sadly, it won't come to that - the prison bit).

Ah that explains it - agree on the Bas Jam album too. Really enjoyed it. And you can see the influence that they brought to the Jarv Is   album

I thought this was a very good set though it does seem Jarvis cannot hit the high notes anymore. He did not sound as raspy as on the Mexico clips I watched the other day but definitely lacks the range he once had. Not that he needs to hit very many high notes, but I fear those of you clamouring for The Fear will be mildly disappointed if they ever play it. Anyway, they all looked like they were having loads of fun, especially Nick during Babies, his baby. Now counting down the days to the first Toronto show

I really dont agree! I think his vocals are far better than in the 2011/12 reunion tour and hes singing really well right now.

Hmm I dont know about that. Jarvis is in great form at the moment and his voice sounds better than ever. Arguably far better  than the 2011/12 Reunion tour as well. I dont think he sounds particularly raspy either - quite crisp, especially in songs like Weeds and F.E.E.L.I.N.G

I think it would be great to hear The Fear, not only to hear Jarvis vocals but also for all of the other components of the song that are just as important - Marks excellent guitar, and the songs strong bass line!

LOL, OK, I guess my opinion is just plain wrong then?

I just did an a/b of DYRTFT at Reading 2011 vs Barcelona 2024. Both excellent performances, but I can't see how anyone could deny that Jarvis sounds noticeably older now, especially on the high notes. And that's to be expected, he's 60, it's an observation not a criticism. Overall I do think he and the band have adapted very well to being 12 years older than the last time out, but I don't see the point in pretending they aren't showing the years. Jarvis can't jump as high as he once could either, noticing it doesn't make you a hater or mean that you enjoy the performance any less. It's just different.

The Fear is special to me because it's the very first Pulp song I heard. For a long time I didn't think it would be a great live song... then I saw the Finsbury Park 1998 clip and oh my, what an absolutely incredible performance all around. So yes, I'd like to see/hear it too, but I would expect it to be quite different from the 1998 version -- and that's fine.

I think Jarvis is doing well considering he's 60. Nick suggested at his talk that 'Mis-Shapes' fell from the setlist because of its high notes, but it's a regular this tour and Jarvis has hit those notes very well. And also on 'Lipgloss' and 'Monday Morning' too.

I do agree that the band are, as you've said, adapting very well to being 12 years older. I think quite a lot of the songs sound a bit slower this time, but also more expansive and heavy-hitting. 'Pink Glove' comes to mind.

Jarvis's voice might sound a little deeper and have a different resonance, but it was one of the very noticeable things about last year's gigs for me that his singing was better than it had been before (if you look at some of those 2011/12 gigs there's a lot more talk-singing and shouting). And I also think his voice sounding a little 'maturer' also adds to some of these songs. It adds a bit of pathos to the likes of 'Disco 2000' and 'Like a Friend'. But overall I think they're really rolling back the years with these gigs.

(Count me in for another who thinks they could bring back 'The Fear')

Harsh! I cant jump like Jarvis does around the stage for two hours and Im 21! Hes doing so well and I think hes a better performer than the clips Ive seen from 11/12, and I also think everyone sounds better instrumentally than the previous tour. I wouldnt say its just different to the previous tours, but its better. I dont think theyre showing the years whatsoever, in any stretch of the imagination! I think Jarvis deserves so much credit for sounding so much better despite being 12 years older.

I don't think I'm being particularly harsh. And I certainly don't think I could do what Jarvis does, at this or any other age. At the risk of repeating myself, there's nothing wrong or bad with Jarvis or anyone else showing their age, it is what it is. But it is noticeable to me. And I'm surprised to be getting so much pushback just for noticing it! Kids these days...

Are the performances better than last time out? A matter of opinion. Barcelona 2011 was absolutely stunning, but so was Sheffield last year. I'd have trouble picking one over the other, though I do enjoy the more elaborate production of the current tour.

Kids these days eh?

Speaking as one of those 'kids' I feel like people are kind of pulling your leg a bit... We do all know Jarvis is getting older. I think there's a balance to be had with fans' expectations and hopes of what Pulp being ambitious with sets and things and the reality of them all getting older and whatnot, but I don't feel like there's any drop-off of ability with that age, if anything when fans go to the shows they say they're just getting better and better. but I see what you're saying - it's 'different' in some ways - but I feel they're no less capable of putting out an amazing performance (and there's deffo more songs they could do, it's really about whether they feel like it - and some of them, like Mark, clearly do and shouldn't feel constrained by their age or other things! just do it!)

Pulp always deliver a quality performance and really seem to hold themselves to immeasurably high expectations, and if they're reading this forum I really hope they aren't dissuaded from playing what they want by age or any other factor. There's still a huge demand out there. I don't really have any setlist wishes now (mine were fulfilled entirely on Hogmanay!) but still. it wouldn't be any less good than it was 30 years ago, honest!

If Jarvis is moving any less then it might be worth remembering that he did actually break his ribcage last autumn. And I'd say he's 'doing well for his age', but... I must be awful hearing younger people talking about you like this - I mean, he's 60! he's not doddering old pensioner, he's sixty! There was a clip the other day of Ringo Starr energetically doing star jumps on stage, and he's 83 for crying out loud. (And a former alcoholic)

Anyway Jarvis has so far being singing really well this tour. If he really is as old as sixty then it isn't really showing to be honest!
