Sorry for the forum spam !!! I'm Working on a pulp zine at the moment, thought you guys might enjoy seeing some pages. (They're missing all the writing just backgrounds atm). Most of this is photobashing/collage.
the cover/more likely back cover
Outfits Jarvis has been described wearing but we don't have photos of, not labelled yet.
Double page spread that links to a poem I wrote next to the contents page about growing up not having very much, tried to emulate Jarvis but idk how well I did. This is actually a picture of me haha
I originally wanted the zine to be specifically about 80's pulp, but the lack of info online makes it kind of difficult. I'm def going to do a sort of satirical page on 80's Jarvis's fish/crustacean obsession, with the lobster song, the crabs song and being in Fish & Breadcake with all the songs about fish. But let me know what you'd like to see??

Firstly, i am literally getting the 80's Jarv haircut in a matter of days so. My bad.
Secondly I love these forums because where else would i get a chronological list of all Pulps hair mentions, amazing. I'll definitely think to include it, though i think his awful chinstrap facial hair is much more of a talking point. I mean, that fact he got the idea from someone on an album cover just to later find out it was a literal shadow. So funny.
This is absolutely wonderful - feel free to grab any bits from Freaks, Mis-Shapes, Weeds. I will even do a trade for some 1990s Pulp zines if you like!
It's done !! It's pretty short and sweet because my ADHD is totally kicking my ass lately. I was going to write a short essay on Jarvis's fish obsession in the 80's, with the lobster song, I scrubbed the crabs and fish and breadcake. Aswell as working at the fish markets. But I have another zine I made for my local punk scene and it took me over 6 months because I HATE essay writing, so I thought why not just get it out now instead of procrastinating for the rest of my life. Anyway yes, here you go.
Funnily enough I was using your site to research the plethora of fishy themed songs Jarv had going on in the 80's. Though that spread is lost to the world for now. As for zines, I'd love to send you a physical copy as a trade?
That is brilliant. Especially the essay on AA. We don't half have some clever-arse Pulp-fan writers! And the gaudy aesthetic suits the content very much.
Bahahah I'm surprised you think so. The "I wrote while very much sorted for e's" bit was because I wrote that essay while blind drunk and woke up in the morning to it in my phone with no memory of creating it . Thank you so much though !! Means a lot coming from actual pulp veterans lol
