Possible, but late 2024
we'll see. If they release another new song tonight or later (before or during Hogmanay), they will definitely release a new AAAlbum
fingers crossed
Well, every time someone's asked me about what I think Pulp are going to do next in the past 15 years, I've been totally wrong. At this point the thing that would surprise me most is a new album and a return to the pop fray. So that's probably what's going to happen.

yeah, since the beginning of the reunion tour, I haven't watched any songs from the setlist on YT, but Hymn of the North & Background Noise are on repeat...

Yeah, same here. I played Hymn of the North over and over for weeks and still go back to it now. Background Noise I've had on now today a few times and at the weekend and I didn't have to push myself to listen. I genuinely liked them on first listen. Hymn of the North in particular is in my top 10 at this stage. That is just otherworldly to me.

Re Background Noise, someone mentioned about You are the One in one of the threads and I think the similarity is the absence of a bridge. There's a buildup to the chorus very quickly without the bridge.
It's growing more and more on me. Eamonn, I think you mentioned Mark's guitar work and that is great the way it progresses through the verse.
The fast vocals combined with slower music reminds me of Bitterest Pill by The Jam. Not melody wise, just that combo.
I've had Background Noise in my head since hearing it.
I doubt this Nick tease will amount to much (unless they debut another song?!) but there's no doubt in my mind something is stirring now. As I've previously posted, Jarvis mentioned in a Vice interview in 2012 that if they did anything again after that initial reunion run, they would have to 'come up with some new jams' so to speak. That interview seems to be gone now, but I reckon that thought must have been in Jarvis' mind still when the time came for this reunion.
Again as I've posted in another thread, if they'd have left it at Hymn Of The North then my faith in something more would have dimmed, especially when Nick played it down in his NME interview, but debuting something absolutely brand new is different altogether than a track that Jarvis had penned for another project previously.
I do love the mystery of it all. I'm sure we would all love to know what the plan is - but we're all along for the ride now, whatever 2024 might bring.

They just have to do it. A big symphonic album with a big orchestra. Something similar to what Arctic Monkeys are doing but in a Pulp way.
They just have to. It would be HUGE.
Background Noise sounds already good, and its probably not the best one of the new batch, and i love Hymn of the North. That's already 1/5 of the LP written
