I'd love if it was televised. It's always such a bleak affair here unless I get my hands on the remote and put on Jools Holland. Would love a bit of Pulp to bring us into 2024 with a bang! You'll all have a great time at this. What a memory waiting to be made.
Struggling with what to wear. I've never been go a big outdoor gig in the bleak mid-winter.
Do I wear a warm coat and risk sweating myself into a dehydration coma, or wear humble shirt and risk catching my death?
It doesn't help that I have a personal conviction to make at least a bit of effort when I go to Pulp gigs. Even if I come out looking like I've been pinned down on the shores of Dunkirk. Will we all just be sloshing around in mud for 3-4 hours?
Think I've asked already, but has anyone been to a previous Hogmanay gig on Princes Street Gardens? What are they like for body searches as the like? I ask because at the Devo gig in the Corn Exchange earlier in the year, the security guy was really bloody invasive. 'Orrible. Also I had to hide my average-sized shoulder bag in a bush because they reckoned it was a terrorist threat or something.
Whilst not going, I'm excited to hear all about this one, it feels like one of those standalone, memorable gigs in the making. It will also give the band some positive media mentions, and possible new listeners ahead of 2024.
I anticipate the same setlist we've up until now, but with a few modifications...
Disco 2000 surely has to come right after midnight.
Countdown to make it's your debut just before they leave the stage for midnight, I hope.
Could they also potentially play a cover here; something Hogmanay related, perhaps part of Auld Lang Syne creatively worked in as an interlude at the start of D2000?
To those going, enjoy, and don't forget your waterproofs. 50% chance of rain, so I'll keep my fingers crossed you don't need them. ;)

Ooh absolutely!
As for Disco 2000 after midnight - that would be amazing and would have the side effect of practically guaranteeing Mis-Shapes and maybe also Razzmatazz taking its place as the early crowd-hyping songs. Exciting to think about!
NOW IS THE TIME OF THE QUICKENING. THE OLD TOWN AND THE NEW TOWN WILL TREMBLE. THE PRIMAL CALLING: THE AGE CHANGES. WELCOME TO THE NEW ERA. WE HOPE YOU REMEMBERED CLEAN UNDERWEAR. IT'S GONNA BE ONE HELL OF A NIGHT. THIS IS WHAT WE DO FOR AN ENCORE.

Everyone who is going please have a great time. Alas such is the curse of working in hospitality in the festive period, I'm working both NYE and NYD (not all day thankfully). Also my bank account is looking redder a ketchup stain on a communist flag.
If anyone should run into Mark perchance, tell him Sarah says hi, and ask him why he hasn't seen my bloody film yet!
Arrived thos afternoon and had a look at the venue from afar/high-up a few hours ago.
Er, there doesn't seem to be much space in front of the stage. I think I have the right tickets (Enclosure) but worried it will fill-up quite quickly tomorrow. Don't really want to queue before 7 o'clock...

Yeah it looks like a tiny venue! Their most intimate show in years? Anyone know how many tickets were sold?
I took a snap, attached. Its right off the street for any trainspotters.
"The sound of children playing in the park comes from faraway, and time slows down to the speed of the specks of dust floating in the light from the window."
I don't know what to do with myself. I am ready and pacing nervously around my dodgy hotel room. Do I join the queue early and risk hypothermia over the next 7-8 hours? Or do I take my chances and watch til gates open. Anyone near the show now and have a visual on the queue, if there is one?

I'm just getting a feed in Le Bistro halfway between the castle and the venue. Will head down after dessert.
If I don't see yis there, let's meet up at The Banshee after.
