A few other differences, besides the rerecorded vocals for the censored lines... I've added some very detailed notes to the Wiki - pulpwiki.net/Pulp/MisshapesSortedSingle
I'm guessing that the Island employee(s) responsible for these didn't work there at the time they were originally released. It has been over 20 years. I'm not sure how convoluted the process is but there is every likelihood that they will make mistakes. It's quite good that they are willing to correct them.
With regards to the Fire singles. Yes, "Countdown" has a 2003 release date and there are two versions of "They Suffocate at Night" but one has "Don't You Know" as the lead track.
After everything has been uploaded, these are the songs that will be missing from streaming:
Everybody's Problem Everybody's Problem There Was...
They Suffocate at Night They Suffocate at Night (7" version) Tunnel (cut-up version)
Master of the Universe Manon (re-recorded version) Silence (like that's ever going to happen)
OU OU (radio edit)
My Legendary Girlfriend (Caff single) My Legendary Girlfriend (soundcheck) Sickly Grin Back in LA
Babies Sheffield: Sex City (Instrumental)
Additionally, as someone mentioned previously, the Peel sessions have been removed.
Phoned Fire earlier today regarding their singles and completing their side of the Pulp catalogue and the lady on the other end of the line said she'd be happy to follow up with everything we've said regarding track listings and dates.
She sent an email asking what was needed to be changed and what else needed adding so I sent her all of the corrections and additions needed for Fire, however, she did say the person in charge of this stuff was on a business trip but they can't say no-one tried as I gave them everything they needed.
As for the Caff single, not sure what to do with that, nor with the Gift stuff either. Think the Peel Sessions would be up to the BBC and that's a whole bigger matter than just an accessible record label

Sounds great. Imagine if the full "Master of the Universe" single ends up on there? That said, "Silence" and the re-recording of "Manon" have never been issued anywhere other than the original 12", certainly not on CD, so it's unlikely it will ever happen. The same is true for the Caff single apart from "Back in LA" being released on an obscure compilation in the 1980s.
I think that Island actually had something to do with the Gift singles, they released "Intro" which included everything but the two listed above.
In all fairness though, it's nice to be getting closer to the full discography even if we don't quite make it.

Sure but it just suggests that there's nothing planned in terms of an over-arching Pulp reissue campaign if they are half-arsed about this stuff. Major labels surely have staff whose job involves researching and curating on a regular basis.
From the conversations I've had with the consultant who's been putting the releases together with Mark Webber, there's just a messy archive at Island to blame. They're full of good intentions, but when they're calling up, say, Babies, there's nothing in the labelling that makes it clear that there are multiple mixes to choose between. The 2023 team had no reason to doubt it was correct. It certainly hasn't helped that songs like Babies, Mis-Shapes, Sorted for E's & Wizz, Party Hard and Bad Cover Version all had 'secret' single mixes that were never named as such on the sleeves... so it's been pot-luck whether the right versions were supplied by the archive.
I hope that they'll remember from this that it's helpful to involve some obsessive fans when putting these things together, because there's a level of knowledge that professionals could easily miss if they're just working from track titles. To be fair, this consultant is really passionate, he was at the Finsbury Park gig, he's been working on this project since January, and he loves that lots of old B-sides are being given a new lease of life. It's certainly not been half-arsed. And he's allowed me check out the upcoming releases to fix other mistakes, which proves they want to get it right. But, realistically, I doubt Jarvis even remembers that the B-side version of Underwear doesn't start with a split second of the end of F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E. like it does on the album. Or cares. But this team want to fix it, now they know.
I've noticed that the Deluxe Editions thanked a number of fans, so I imagine they consulted and checked with a variety of people when those listings were put together. Was anyone here involved...?

Cheers, hawalius1. Good to know that there's a passionate Pulp fan-turned-consultant working through the messy Island archives to bring all the releases onto strea-
Wait -
Hang on -
...there's a passionate Pulp fan-turned-consultant working through the messy Island archives ?!?!?!
LOL. I wish! No, I'm nowhere near the archives, I've just checked what was queued to be released, after all the work was done January-May this year. And have pointed out the things that weren't right, and told them to check the original singles for the right versions. I've not got any access beyond that.
Wow, it's now a tremendous coincidence that literally as I'm midway through listening to the demo of After You - the song that became their one-off reunion re-release in 2012 - they go and play a new bloody song. And we're joking about hearing unreleased material!

Might be worth an email or phone call to Island then later next week from me to see if we could get any Gift era singles released as well as trying to find something about Caff on the internet to see who does what with it as there's no trace anywhere. Which label released Everybody's Problem again?

The label behind Everybody's Problem and There Was is Cherry Red Records, and they released several indie pop compilations where these songs are in. Afortunately, this compilations are in streaming. Just search on Spotify "Scared to get Happy" (the name of one of the compilations) and look for Everybody's Problem.
Ahhh so whilst the songs dont show up on Pulps profile, we have got the actual songs on streaming. Very neat. So its only the Fire Records, Caff and Gift we need to find now. Shouldnt be too much of a problem
More than a year ago i emailed Fire to fix some errors like "dont you know" on they suffocate at night single and the wrong date on Dogs Are Everywhere EP. they only fixed They Suffocate at Night but actually we have both versions up! What a mess...
Just been having my random ridiculous early morning thoughts that's caused me to look up songs that Pulp released on compilations but aren't easily found or possibly not on streaming site such as Spotify. I made an impromptu list if anyone has any idea of the links to any of these if they are indeed somewhere on the internet but it only came to me after seeing the list that Ian made of the songs missing from official single releases.
Anyway here's the list and any help would be appreciated, i get its a long shot but you never know as Hugo proved to me about Everybody's Problem that was hidden away on Spotify that I couldn't find. I've already had a quick look but nothing came up so anyone who might've saved the song in the past might be able to help?
What Do You Say?
Coy Mistress
Le Roi Des Fourmis
Maureen
My Body May Die
My First Wife
Grandfather's Nursery.

Thank you.
Youtube is a surprisingly good treasure trove for rare Pulp stuff.
Sorry if this has already been covered, a lot to take in - does anyone know if the 2023 Lipgloss & Do You Remember singles are sourced from the originals or from the more compressed deluxe edition? (They are sadly also more compressed on Second Class too, according to the dynamic range database.). Might have to track down some original CDs, as I never saw these for cheap back in the 90s.
Im not sure, but ive got some Pulp singles on MP3 sourced from the original CD singles if thats easier than you going out of the way to buy the singles? drop me a message with your email if it sounds good and ill send them over. Ive definitely got Lipgloss and i think i have Do You Remember The First Time?
I'm not sure what you mean, can you be specific? I've got the original CD singles, Second Class and the Deluxe albums, and can't see any difference between them: all sound fine.
If you check the singles at PulpWiki I've added notes about how the EPs released so far differ from the original singles. The title tracks for Lipgloss and DYRTFT are not precisely the same as the original singles... but I wouldn't say they were compressed.
Most Pulp CD singles are dirt-cheap at Discogs.

James Nice of LTM/Les Disques du Crépuscule managed to get the tracks from the Field Mice single on Caff released as part of their CD reissue programme, so maybe he's a good place to start?
