Didn't Hugo already remaster these?

He's probably made a better a job of it and all...

A pity Babies I and Razz are not included. But it's all just bells and whistles, hopefully it leads up to a proper physical box with unheard songs/recordings for us.

Are Ansaphone (non-demo) and That Boy's Evil the only B-Sides not on streaming, as they were left off the deluxe editions?

 Stealing Hugo's whole thing, then - he's already put a lot of work into reproducing tons of Pulp videos in higher fidelity. I doubt a rival AI upscale of Pulp could create any better results than what he's already done.

If it's a genuine remaster then fantastic, if it's not then don't pass it off as one. Especially as you're absolutely right, AI upscales generally look like dogwank.

B-side versions of Tomorrow Never Lies and Cocaine Socialism; the extended versions of Live Bed Show and The Fear; the alternate mixes of Disco 2000 and A Little Soul; the acoustic tracks from the Pete Aherne show; F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E. live; the 'bad cover versions' of Sorted and Disco 2000; and all the dance mixes, many of which are absolutely great, including a few only ever released on vinyl... there's a fair amount that isn't currently available. The deluxe editions also featured slightly edited versions of Your Sister's Clothes and The End of the Line version of This Is Hardcore, hopefully the proper versions of those will be rereleased. I'll be really interested to see what happens with the multi-format singles, whether we get CD1 and CD2 releases, or all the tracks in a new EP release. If I were doing it, I'd throw in all the international B-sides as well... and the radio edits!

I've seen the official remaster for Lipgloss, and, indeed, it's completely an AI upscale... i compared their remaster with mine's and god... (now with the experience i can do it better for this video) the official don't looks HD at all, it's a weird
thing... and it looks very artificial. I'm working on remasters like a year, so, i learned lots of tricks so now i can do it even better than the first time. In fact, i will make a NEW one, to see a real comparison between their's and mine. It would be CRAZY if universal figures out my work and we can do someting together but we all know this will never happen.

 Some enterprising bootlegger did print some boxes up. I think there was one for sale on Esprit years ago but they weren't official. There was a bit of a run on 7" reissues at this point- I think Kula Shaker did the same and there was an official box.

The cynic in me wonders whether one of the major drivers for this exercise is that Jarvis is tired of seeing the Singles and EPs section of streaming services being dominated by Fire reissues, and wants to dilute it a little?

On Qobuz, release dates are very confusing. It's the original dates... If they've just copied and pasted tracks from deluxe Edition, then it's a total mess. 

The release dates are the same across all the streaming and download sites that I've seen, they've been published under old dates. I see the same on Spotify, 7digital, iTunes, etc.

And the copying of tracks from the Deluxe Editions seems to be uniform across all platforms... I wasn't suggesting Qobuz were to blame for that. They're just my preferred music store!

 I think because technically it's not a Pulp song, but a mix by The Chocolate Layers (ie Jarvis and Steve pissing about with samples).

Very disappointing to find that Mis-Shapes and Sorted are the album versions on the new EP, not the original single versions. I did point this out in advance but was warned that the lead-in time to get the files ready for streaming was too long, and there wasn't time to do anything about what had been queued up. But the label are aware, and have said they'll replace them down the line if they can.

I've been told that the errors from Disco 2000 onwards have been corrected, so fingers crossed this is the last of the mistakes.

From the conversations I've had with the consultant who's been putting the releases together with Mark Webber, there's just a messy archive at Island to blame. They're full of good intentions, but when they're calling up, say, Babies, there's nothing in the labelling that makes it clear that there are multiple mixes to choose between. The 2023 team had no reason to doubt it was correct. It certainly hasn't helped that songs like Babies, Mis-Shapes, Sorted for E's & Wizz, Party Hard and Bad Cover Version all had 'secret' single mixes that were never named as such on the sleeves... so it's been pot-luck whether the right versions were supplied by the archive.

 I hope that they'll remember from this that it's helpful to involve some obsessive fans when putting these things together, because there's a level of knowledge that professionals could easily miss if they're just working from track titles. To be fair, this consultant is really passionate, he was at the Finsbury Park gig, he's been working on this project since January, and he loves that lots of old B-sides are being given a new lease of life. It's certainly not been half-arsed. And he's allowed me check out the upcoming releases to fix other mistakes, which proves they want to get it right. But, realistically, I doubt Jarvis even remembers that the B-side version of Underwear doesn't start with a split second of the end of F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E. like it does on the album. Or cares. But this team want to fix it, now they know.

I've noticed that the Deluxe Editions thanked a number of fans, so I imagine they consulted and checked with a variety of people when those listings were put together. Was anyone here involved...?

 The label behind Everybody's Problem and There Was is Cherry Red Records, and they released several indie pop compilations where these songs are in. Afortunately, this compilations are in streaming. Just search on Spotify "Scared to get Happy" (the name of one of the compilations) and look for Everybody's Problem.
