There's a Jarvis quote from a few years back, and I'm paraphrasing, but it's something like 'my output has not been as prolific as I would have liked'. Do you think he thinks of Damon in that regard?
These are just his albums:
Leisure (1991)
Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993)
Parklife (1994)
The Great Escape (1995)
Blur (1997)
13 (1999)
Gorillaz (2001)
Mali Music (2002) (with Afel Bocoum, Toumani Diabaté & Friends)
Think Tank (2003)
Demon Days (2005)
The Good, the Bad & the Queen (2007) (with The Good, the Bad & the Queen)
Plastic Beach (2010)
The Fall (2010)
Kinshasa One Two (2011) (as part of DRC Music)
Rocket Juice & the Moon (2012) (with Flea and Tony Allen as part of "Rocket Juice and the Moon")
Maison Des Jeunes (2013) (as part of Africa Express)
Everyday Robots (2014)
In C Mali (2014) (as part of Africa Express)
The Magic Whip (2015)
The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians and Guests (2016) (with Africa Express)
Humanz (2017)
The Now Now (2018)
Merrie Land (2018) (with The Good, the Bad & the Queen)
Egoli (2019) (with Africa Express)
Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez (2020)
The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows (2021)
The Ballad of Darren (2023)
Cracker Island (2023)
And how does Cocka measure up in the same time span?
1992 Separations 1993 Intro (it's a comp yeah but throw the guy a bone) 1994 HnH 1995 DC 1998 TIH 2001 WLL 2005 Harry Potter (only a few songs used but he wrote an album for it!) 2006 Solo 2009 Further Comps ...erm... 2017 Room 29 2020 Beyond The Pale 2021 Chansons D'Ennui Tip-Top 2022 This Is Going To Hurt Soundtrack 2024 Utterly Pulped (the final album?! Failing that, there'll be a Jarv Is II)
So yeah, it's a slim body (with gangly, corduroyed legs) but there are lots of substantial (ie more than a one-off song/guest vocal) collaborations across those years (Sinatra, Gainsbourg, Gaiman etc.). Not sure if Allbran did more than what's been listed.

Agreed, not sure Albarn's catalogue is as substantial. Demon Days is easily his best record (Blur included), Plastic Beach is pretty good, The Nearer The Fountain is probably the best thing he's made since then. Those releases are all pretty strong. But there's some weak stuff there too, some forgettable and lesser work.
The other thing about Gorillaz is that it was immeasurably strengthened by Jamie Hewlett's half of the project. I adored it as a teen - that mid-noughties period was so very good - but after 2006 or so (I think there was an aborted film here) the two sides of the project began to spiral apart. The live concerts in Manchester and Brooklyn were probably the apex of Gorillaz as a genuinely strong artistic endeavour. Now it's all about getting Elton in the recording booth and flogging bits of tacky merch to kids. It's a shame, they came in strong with the visual aspect in 2016 but the music wasn't up to scratch.
At individual albums, as whole, thematic, rounded projects, I don't think Cocker has done so well - Pulp never mastered the art of creating albums - but I think that's partly because his records are replete with diversions and corners and suchlike. They don't fit quite so well into the album template, but they never have any filler or any lyrics that aren't meaningful - EVERY Cocker release must be savoured for its lyrics, which is not something Albarn achieves. I think overall Jarvis's output is much more persuasive, more pointed and meaningful, and more wry and relatable than Albarn's. And that's not to knock Damon's attempts to swirl together genres and musical strands across cultures (god this is getting into pseud territory)... Basically, quality over quantity and all that. Damon couldn't do HMANL but Jarvis could do Cracker Island. Not that I'll be listening to his HP music anytime soon, those books are bilge.

Hold on... was just listening to the 3 tracks yesterday, its been a lot of years. They are great tracks. Do we know if the others were recorded or re-used ?
Since This is the Night and the other tracks from Harry Potter are pretty rock n roll, maybe some tracks from that batch ended on Further Complications...
