Yesterday me and my gf ended up in the Lakes (TransPennine had a £1 ticket sale). We came down to Ullswater and everything was blanketed in snow. It looked beautiful and surreal.
Until the mist came down we were thinking of climbing a fell that happens to be called Sheffield Pike.
I thought about Steve a lot yesterday. So unfair that he's gone.
The thing is that I don't think we'd have got this album had Steve not passed so tragically. I mean, would they go into the studio and record without him if he was still around but wasn't up for it?
I find there's something rather moving about that. I don't see it as an either-or, obviously we'd rather have Steve, it's more the nature of it all that I think is quite striking when you think about it.
