I remember that- published by UFO, a record/mail order shop in Croydon, I think. It was like the Illustrated Story- a basic biography with lots of interview quotes padded out with numerous photos. It had a slip case with interchangeable covers. 1996 was a heady time for the Pulp cash-ins.
That's a blast from the past! I remember really wanting that book - the tomorrow people. It was nearly all photos but really well printed and getting to see photos you hadn't seen before was like finding treasure in 1996! I had to make do with reading it in the shop. If memory serves me right it was quite expensive for the time and it felt like really good quality paper

I have my copy in front of me now. Not sure how well-printed it is, certainly looks rubbish next to 'Hardcore', but the interchangeable covers are nice.
It did have some good photos in it which I haven't seen elsewhere- that one where they're outside in the dark and the one where they're in a club toilet. Can't remember much about the text- better effort than many at the time though!

Any scans of these floating around - or even just pics from someone's phone camera, if any of you have this book? Always keen to see photos that are new to me, very exciting once you get past a certain point. Lol..

I recently moved house so its in a box somewhere but when I find it I can put some pics up. I don't think there's anything in it that's not on the internet somewhere.
My copy of Hardcore arrived today! I think the delay was due to being at the end of the alphabet.
Nah, they're not that organised. I'm an 'M' and they only attempted delivery yesterday - to my old address, despite me flagging an updated change with them a few weeks ago. Giles Acrylic (B for Bosworth) was still awaiting his when the launch took place last Thursday.

Dug mine out. Attached some pics of the glossies that I thought were less "common"
Haha, thanks for posting those. You're looking at the exact reason I felt sufficiently emboldened to start writing a book of my own. Although the pictures in these are better.

That spread perplexed me when I was a kid. Having not grown up in the UK I didn't realise Cancer Research operate charity shops on British high streets. I thought they were saying Jarv looked a bit unwell, and thought that was rather rude.
Similarly it took me years to learn "Help the Aged" was also a reference to a charity shop. I get depressed now when I see how they've rebranded "Age UK".
Most important question, however, is: did Jarvis nick Russell's shades for that photo?

A valiant quest! Bless you!
You are much too hard on yourself though, after all you introduced the world to the photo of young Jarvis with the long blonde tresses. Unbeatable pic.

Very late thankyou for this!! Yes I think I've seen all these before but good to rule it out. I'd probably have ended up buying it and adding to my now jenga-like pile of Pulp magazines and prints to scan in. <3
