Yes and yes. Well Volume who are publishing the one we have all signed up to fund are a Thames & Hudson 'imprint'. So I suppose perhaps the thinking is that this book has a wider interest than just Pulp fans - more general distribution with the new cover / title? I think its good! Hope lots of libraries get it!
Update - the fan-funded version with that beautiful floral cover, ships this week!
Dear Hardcore supporter,
Were delighted to announce that all pledges for Hardcore are currently being processed at our warehouse and will begin shipping at the end of this week. In the meantime, please enjoy this exclusive look of the finished article!
Paul Burgess and and Louise Colbourne had a stand (see pic attached) selling copies of the new book (trade version) at a record-collector fair near Highbury, London yesterday. I saw that Paul had advertised it on his Instagram a day or two before, and I was out browsing furniture stores (not His'n'Hers style, don't worry) not too far away, I thought I'd swing by. I ended-up having a great chat with them. I didn't have a leaf-through the retail version of the book, as I want it to be a surprise when the fan-pledged one arrives. I asked Paul about this - he said that Volume have told him that they have started posting them out.
For any London-heads, there is a Q&A with the authors and a DJ set from Martin Green (I mistook him for Jarvi's old art college pal Martin Wallace, Paul corrected me) to launch the book at the The Horse Hospital in Holborn (triple H!) on Thursday Nov 9th from about 7pm. Special guest is Ms Candida Doyle (of "Lovely Doyle Music Ltd." - it's true, that's her company name!).

I actually don't love that cover. Which is weird because I love almost all the images I've seen from the era. Feels like a freshman film class textbook.

i feel the same way. the pledge backed one look so much more chic tbh. this design is just not working. i ordered the pledge one some time ago though so i cant wait to get it! glad to know the orders are trickling out, although i imagine my copy won't be crossing the atlantic anytime soon
No, you're right, it doesn't seem to have been publicised. I picked up a flyer with the details on the stand in the pic above. Paul encouraged folk to come if they could so I imagine he will advertise it on his Insta. I've messaged him on there just now to ask him.
Mine has arrived! I don't want to open it, it looks so good on the outside. I got a fancy one for my christmas last year. Might have to buy the normal version so I can have a look. would that be sad?
