That is intriguing. Almost suggests Steve and Jarv were thinking of doing an offshoot project, then again, there is their video + film work. Great pics. Cheers!
Probably a much more boring reason for it just being the two of them. Being the only ones based in London, it wasn't unheard of for them to do the odd interview without the rest of the band if they couldn't make it down for the purpose. So I bet these were snapped at the end of one of those, and probably not used because whoever-it-was ultimately got some full band ones instead. That'd be my best guess anyway!
