I've just got notification that I have passed all my assesments for my commis chef apprenticeship. I'm officially now a commis chef level 2. I'm just posting this everywhere because I'm really happy it's all over!
Well done Sarah, that's great. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a commis chef? I get the impression any kind of chef work is pretty intense, so good job for getting through it.

It's quite low down on the pecking order of kitchen staff generally, but I do get to boss the kitchen porters and the new kitchen staff around! Actually where I work is quite democratic. Everyone takes turns in different roles when needed. There have been a couple of times where I have been the most senior member of kitchen staff on a shift.
