Im bogged down with Covid right now and have been listening to alot of music of late. Listen to this for a scenario.......With Pulp are unlikely to ever perform again, how would you feel if Jarv Is incorporated say Nick and Steve into Jarv Is, and played Pulp songs on tour? If Candida and Mark couldnt be arsed anymore - and Jarvis clearly showing that he hasnt put Pulp to the back of his mind - would we be happy to accept a collaboration rather than nothing?

To be honest I'd be happy hearing Jarv Is playing more Pulp material. I'm not fussed if Nick and Steve are involved. I can't see Jarvis jettisoning his current band for a couple of old Pulp members.

Maybe future Pulp gigs with Serafina and Emma instead of Candida and Mark?

I don't think they'll ever return. I think they all feel that they've left it now in the most appropriate way. Jarvis seems content doing whatever he fancies. Even when they were together Pulp always favoured their new material & rarely delved too far into their back catalogue.

After the reunion, I'd have taken a tour every 10 years or so but without new material it feels a bit weird & nostalgia driven as their latest album is over 20 years old now.

Nah. The reunion was a nicely judged conclusion. I'd be happy if Jarvis saw out the rest of his career with regular Jarv Is... albums with the odd Pulp song in the live sets (like this year's tour). Beyond The Pale was his best album since the first solo LP in my opinion, if he can keep this level of quality up i'll be delighted (although it would be nice to have more than 7 tracks on future albums!).

Agreed - the reunion was a fitting conclusion. Of course, if they ever did play again, I'd be excited to see it, but surely it's unlikely without Candida. Candida's hands looked quite bad during the last tour, and another decade has passed since then. If the condition is the same in her back and neck, it could be difficult or very unpleasant for her to be onstage for an hour +.

As for Jarv Is, yeah, great to play an occasional Pulp song, and a thrill for the audience, but I don't think I'd like to see Jarvis playing full Pulp sets with other musicians.

Any Pulp-related activity would be a boon in these dark times. What ever happened to the 25th DC reissue? I'm experiencing longing. I hear existing pressings on vinyl sound bad, so a lovely remastered pressing with the die-cut cover would make me so happy. I urred for an original copy at £120 a couple of years back, but there's a couple on eBay asking £350, no waaaay!

It just completely vanished into thin air, didn't it?

If you want to be able to summon up the feeling of disappointment whenever you wish, then buy one of the reissues & then hold it in your hands & look at it.

Don't listen to it

...Yeah - I could carefully cut-out the window with a Stanley knife and pretend that I've lost all the inserts. And the record too.

Is the current pressing really as bad as everyone says?
