That's probably the best Jarvis interview I've ever read. What a brilliant interviewer. Poses interesting concepts, and then shuts up and lets Jarvis speak. Brilliant work!

Yeah, nice to hear him shoot the breeze a bit more. Can see why his book is going to be about creativity. I liked the interviewer's footballers from the North analogy, too.

Also, great to have it confirmed that he is firmly "in the zone" with writing new material. He seems to have the bit between his teeth and a second Jarv Is... record is already being discussed and created. Boo-ya!

Although... the amount of time he spends wanging on about the first album coming together live; who knows how far off we are from concerts coming back? So, given his belief in the "workshopping" of new songs in front of fans, another 11 years for the next record it is, then...

Could be worse... Imagine if he'd joined Portishead...

agreed....that was a great read. and ended too abruptly.

"Of course, another reason we used odd instruments in Pulp was because we were reclaiming them, in a way"

every time i hear a farfisa or stylophone, i think of pulp. not an era, or style, or scene, but a sound.

Yes agreed! When you read interviews like this I think how lucky are we that we love - support - adore - think is the bee's knees - whatever term of affection you want to use - is so eloquent and articulate.
