Some of you who have been around here for a very long time may remember I did a cover of Silence many years ago, and a few of you really liked it. (Especially Sturdy, I vaguely recall).

Anyways, I'm currently learning to use more modern recording equipment (powerful PC & a DAW), so I thought another Pulp cover might be a good way to practice.

So, as the title suggests, any requests? Any era, maybe even another of Jarvis' projects...

I'll have a go at the most popular answer (ha ha assuming I get more than one reply!), & if I can't come up with anything decent I'll move on to the next.

Oh & if anyone's interested here's the original Silence cover...

...It's a bit cringe now (particularly the pic of me in my mid twenties a decade ago) but was only intended as a bit of fun anyway!

Cheers guys, I'll check back in a day or two.

Continue the theme of unpopular Pulp songs and go for 'Someone Like The Moon'!

...but only if you can croon. Otherwise Live On!

"97 Lovers" may be a good follow-up to your cover of "Silence"

Please don't (worry) - no, I mean don't go near 80's Pulp. It's mostly irredeemable.

Eamonn, I'm surprised you have such an aversion to 80's Pulp. I've played Little Girl (With Blue Eyes) & I Want You live countless times & they always seem to go down well.
Still, each to their own ;)

Yeah, I'm pretty confident in my crooning ability so Someone Like The Moon can be a contender.

My old band The Ultimate End played Live On at nearly every show & I'm still pretty sad we no longer exist so I'll probably avoid that one. Unless there's suddenly a glut of requests for it, of course.

So that's one vote for Someone Like The Moon, one for 97 Lovers & one against 97 Lovers, giving Someone Like The Moon a clear early lead!

edit: I'm supposed to have some time off work from the 15th, so that's when I plan to start working on it.

I was listening to His N Her the other day & was thinking how Someone LTM would be so much better if it was stripped down and not so over produced...

OR... over produced but with a full orchestra!

Okay, final bump for this.
Anyone fancy something other than Someone Like The Moon, speak up now as I plan to start work tomorrow!

Okay. Someone Like The Moon it is!
Have began early noodlings with the acoustic. I'll let you know when I have something vaguely worth your attention, probably about a week.

Apologies for the delay to this, had a bit of a creativity drought!
Currently hoping to put it up first weekend in September. Fingers crossed.
