Having said that - the "glow in the dark" one isn't here - but I have definately ordered it! - I think Jarv is tapping into what we have always had as fans of releasing the same thing with different versions to coin it in! He knows we are all middle aged now and have the deposible income!
Must I Evolve - same tracks 4 different colours
Last night 4 colours were available for 'House Music' 12" - I got an orange one (they aren't as good design as Must i Evolve but they are "dayglow" so canny
And now this! I'm gonna have to order again to get a Barbican live disc, aren't I? That's after he's had nearly 75 quid out of me already!
To be fair, I am also a Bowie fan and this is very good value compared to the overpriced shite that has come along since he died.

I tend to avoid most of it.
I have bought a couple of the big vinyl boxes (A New Career in a New Town, Loving The Alien) when Amazon reduced them as I had tapes originally rather than LPs. Also got live CDs (Blackout, Cracked Actor, Glastonbury) . Also got MTV storytellers on vinyl. I pretty much had everything from Space Oddity to Station To Station in umpteen formats so didnt worry about first two boxes. Maybe would get Who Can I Be Now if it ever came down a lot in price. Not sure I would bother with any more that is due to come out except the record store day live LP.
But the 7 picture discs, the demos and the bootlegs I just cant be bothered.
Also I feel its all a bit of a racket with umpteen formats of the same record. I will just stick to black versions. Generally they sound better even if they are not as collectible.
I have been looking on Rough Trade for like 20 minutes trying to decide which vinyl to get. I like the orange one... but then the clear one is limited to 1500. Lifes good when this is all you have to figure out.
Apparently the postage charged by Rough Trade is stupidly high. The comments on the House Music video post on Facebook are littered with people saying it's a disgrace and Jarvis should step-in to sort it out.
Yes, I was a bit disappointed too when I saw the short tracklisting. I guess thats all they have.
I think we all thought they were holding back more songs than they were actually playing live.
I don't think Elvis Has Left The Building is a big loss (the recorded version is available anyway) but it's a pity that Chilled Ibiza has been discarded. I guess the signs were there as they only ever played it once live.
Ok, does the black version only have the live CD if ordered from rough trade? I cancelled my Amazon order this morning as it is not clear if it has the CD or not. Might just listen to it on Amazon Music Unlimited...
Hmm, not the Jarv Is band or material then but earlier work. I don't remember this happening and it's where I work although from 2016 so before I started.
Anyone reckon Save the Whale is veering a little self-conciously into late Gainsbourg/Cohen territory? Not a criticism like, good song, just I wonder if this is serving as a model
Serge started having backing singers take the weight of the chorusses as his voice deteriorated, seems to be a bit of a theme too. Thinking of songs like "No Comment", "Kiss me Hardy", that period. Jarv is unlikely to have smoked or drank as much as him though... It'd be for the sake of style rather than of necessity
