No.

Some indications online (Discogs) that this release does actually contain Babies. Can anyone confirm? Might be the difference in deciding whether to shell-out for it or not...

hello, first time posting here!

I just got my copy in the mail today and can say initially that it is significantly different than the 2012 reissue. The most major variation I found on a first listen is that the keyboards and synths throughout the album are much much louder. Babies, Pink Glove, and Happy Endings are what most stuck out to me as exceptional. I'm sure I'll notice something else on another listen, it really did sound great and quite different.

Hmmmmmm
Was going to skip this, but if people are finding it a good listen I might give it a punt. The white vinyl is pretty too...

Popped into Action Records today to purchase my HnH double white vinyl limited edition. Was quite impressed with the packaging, nice artwork and presentation is very good. HOWEVER......everyone should know there are TWO versions of this release. The white vinyl version, and the BLACK vinyl version. I was under the assumption there was only one release of this, and it was a white vinyl release. Now im lumbered with another bloody version of HnH which I have just paid 23 quid for. Pretty annoyed by this. The only good thing I will say is that there is a download card within the vinyl so you can download the remastered version in digital format. It does sound pretty nice to be fair, however I cant help but feel duped.

2 out of 10 .

The white one is rarer and it'll sound the same as the black one, they were both advertised on the original release information details from that link to Universal's website. Not sure why you're annoyed? £23 is also the cheapest by at least a fiver I've seen it advertised for. Sellers on discogs already have it at North of forty quid.

Actually, they probably could have been clearer in their description, reading back again.
Sound-wise, are you hearing anything different? I'm still undecided on buying it or not.

If this was my first time of buying HnH, I would turn around and say that it's a good album, nice balance of audio.

However, we all Pulp perfectionists so I'm going to dissect the bugger.

There is a definite improvement on the clarity of instruments - the only draw back is because the album is "bullerized" with lots of echo and reverb, its hard to tell just what they have done in some of the songs. Oh and the bass is significantly louder too which clearly will be a Steve Mackey influence. I feel that Jarvis vocals, are slightly quieter?

I would say that yes, this is a buy - with my personal selling factor being that you can download the record rather than actually having to play it. The download is in a zip, and it is WAV format rather than mp3.

The most notably differences are on Babies , DYRTFT, Pink Glove, Happy Endings and Acrylic Afternoons. I've not listened to David's Last Summer or Someone like the moon yet.

The version of Babies is also the original version and not the 94 version from The Sisters EP.

Cheers. Yeah, it would require a remix to really shed new light on the album but that might take away from its charm.
Can't believe this new release is still being advertised without Babies.

Bit the bullet and bought it today. Cheapest place I found it was HMV. They have it on sale for 23 quid which is kinda OK.

It sounds canny. As others have said, the bass is louder and the synths are clearer. Percussion is much clearer too. 'Babies' thumps along a bit more like the live versions do.

The whole thing sounds a lot less dated and you can pick out the individual instruments.

I'd say it's probably worth it ... but only just. Could have done with some extra artwork and extra disc with some additional tracks (b-sides from that era would have done the job.

I have no idea why they would just randomly include a minor change like that

YES. There is an extra "Oh yeah" just before the coda kicks in. Sounds like it's the 2nd "oh yeah" copied and pasted in. Strikes me as a very 'Jarvis' kind of addition. It makes sense to be there I suppose.

I'm so glad this forum is still here, I'd never have known about the reissue without it, and definitely wouldn't have considered buying it! I'm loving it. The remastering is subtle, for sure, but there is so much that stands out on careful listening. Babies in particular sounds better than ever.

The Lipgloss issue seems like a mistake to me - like it was always on the master tape, and someone forgot to mute it? It's the kind of thing they couldn't have timed perfectly live, so I can imagine Jarvis wanting to take it off the original mix so it wasn't quite so polished!

Just received this. Not listened to it yet but having never had HnH on vinyl before, you really appreciate the impact of the cover image up-close. Quite striking, especially compared to DC.
A digital download code was mentioned earlier in this thread, I can't see reference to this in the packaging?

I'm not a fan of modern vinyl reissues, i dont know why, probably because of nostalgia feelings for OLD things. 6 years ago i bought original record of His'n'Hers without main cover, but with inner sleeves only for 2 pounds. I think it's great purchase. And a few years ago i saw guy on ebay that was selling different record covers only, H'n'H was on it, but he didnt want to sell H'n'H only. I was so close to assembling a puzzle
