Is there only me who thinks that Scott Walker's catalogue is best left alone? I didn't like the cover of "On Your Own Again" at Meltdown and even these Jarvis performances at the prom do absolutely nothing for me. I could just about countenance Jarvis and Air performing "The Old Man's Back Again" but it wasn't anything special.

I can understand the stance of not touching Scott's 60s output as those albums are as perfect as they are ever going to be (a stance that Walker himself has taken) but I think if the opportunity comes along to perform them - particularly with a big orchestra for the BBC - then it's nice to hear them have an outting after so long and great to hear Hawley and Cocker doing them too.
I haven't watched it back since the original broadcast. I just remember enjoying it at the time.
I forgotten that Jarvis performed "Cossacks Are" from "The Drift" once and that wasn't too bad. I just suppose it sounds a bit odd with someone else other than Scott singing.
