I don't know if this one slipped by but Jarvis is doing a DJ set with Andy Votel at the Golden Lion in Todmorden this Saturday night after a gig by Jane Weaver.
A real obscure one in a place that's out of the way, about an hour from where I am. I tried to get a couple of tickets one for myself and one for my dad but they only let you get one at a time on the website at it's only a small capacity thing, only managed to blag myself a ticket so I'm currently arranging some kind of hotel room for the night and it's looking like I will be flying solo this weekend to my first Jarvis DJ set!
Really hoping to meet him and get a pic, let him know how much I appreciate his work in & out of Pulp!
Anyone else from the forum going to this one?

I was going to go but I couldnt get tickets and I didnt fancy going alone if I ended up getting one- Im from Preston so Im not too far, I once went to todmorden to random drum and bass nite, its quite a bizarre small place and I think they can tell if ur not local
ive been to 2 DJ events jarvis has been at, theyre OK, its good seeing him really up close but some of his tunes are a bit moody, but its an experience..
did you go? Any photos?

I did go in the end, drove over Saturday night and had a room booked just around the corner. Went in as Jane Weaver was on upstairs who was supporting, and walked into the room and who was stood next to me but Jarvis himself. I froze up and totally bottled the opportunity to talk to him as I felt pretty starstruck. Eventually after a few pints when he was DJ'ing I managed to get near the front and shook his hand a couple of times! The music was really a mixed bag all night but it was fun! It took me a couple of hours to get into it as I was alone but in the end had a really good time. I've a couple of bits of pictures and videos but nothing really substantial due to having the worlds shittest phone.
Glad you had a good time! When we went to this drum and bass nite, we were in a transit van and my mate just parked it up without thinking. After the event ended we all slept in sleeping bags in the back, very cosy. Anyway, in the morning when we all woke up and as rough as toast, we opened the side and back doors and entire car boot sale was going on all around us and we had to wait till it was over before we could get out.. it was quite an experience. We were so rough, in the same clothes, roasting, thirsty and hungry, I just wanted to get home. Never been back since

Great story. Did you buy anything? Did you sell anything...?

Nothing! I Quite like car boot sales as well but I was so rough I just wanted to go home. That nite I left the club early and I was the first in the van as i would have thrown up if I would have stayed in there any longer
