I remember emailing Cherry Red a few years ago asking why they didn't release this for RSD. I still don't know why they haven't!

I've ordered my copy. It'll be a nice surprise in ten months' time when I've forgotten all about it and receive it in the post.

Curious though, why now?
As Stephen mentions record store day, wouldn't that have been a more appropriate date and time?
I guess it will be a nice addition to a completists collection.
Would be nice to have a cd version too though.
From the original tapes.

It's part of a larger singles club of various '80s indie/c86-type 7" reissues. Optic Nerve re-release a lot of great stuff from that era such as The Flatmates, 14 Iced Bears and McCarthy. Maybe not of interest to the average Pulp fan but Everybody's Problem certainly fits nicely into the series.

Red Sleeping Beauty by McCarthy is one of me and my babby's songs. Love it.
Might get the two for ten deal.
Pretty long lead-in time alright!

"Everybody's Problem" was featured on a Cherry Red compilation CD which I picked up in a small music shop for £2.99. I haven't listened to it in years because I don't like the song but from what I can remember, it definitely didn't sound as if it was taken from the vinyl. I will try and dig out the CD and get it uploaded.

Also, both "Everybody's Problem" and "There Was" featured on a different Cherry Red compilation but I have never seen this one.

That's the Red Heaven CD right? I believe that's a direct copy from the Cherry Red CD of It, which I believe is indeed taken from (fairly clean) vinyl. Sound isn't amazing, either way.

Yes, it's "Red Heaven" that I have got. I have also got the Cherry Red "It" CD which I seem to remember containing lots of crackle in comparison. I will dig them both out and check.

Well, over a year later, I just got a notification saying that my copy has been shipped. I had completely forgotten, and it is indeed a nice surprise. Looks like it was released a few months later than originally planned.

It's sold out now, looks like most/all of them have. 500 copies each, nice little earner, presumably.

Cool! They've obviously prevailed on Pete Hill to dig into his photo archive there. Good vinyl effect too. That poster has got to be a recent mock-up rather than an original artefact from 1983 though, right?

Any word on the sound quality or quality of pressing?

Sounds good to me! As good if not better than the original.

Assumed the poster was just created especially for this release. Still nice to have though.

I like how the splatter effect fits with the colours on the sleeve design.

Noticed the quality of the photo on the rear sleeve seems a little sharper and brighter than on the original release. You can see more detail on the jacket that Jarvis is wearing in the photo for example.

For a one-off release, it feels quite a premium product and that care and attention has been given to it.

I think this will quickly become quite desirable as a genuinely limited release.

There's three of these currently for sale on Discogs at slightly inflated prices. With postage they come in at approx £20 each.
