I'm a bit less sure it's a new album announcement now than it is for the book he sold rights for last March. As someone posted on the FB group, 'Jarv Is...' seems a pun more appropriate to literature...although half his lyrics are couched in puns so maybe not. It could be either, I'm really curious now!
I wondered that too Eamonn, if he was only furtively trying out new material in Iceland at New Year, that would seem like a pretty fast turnaround for a completed album. But it will be summat, whatever it is. Maybe he's going to do some live dates to try it out more?? Hopefully not just festivals if that's the case, I hate festivals, can't get anywhere near the stage without getting claustrophobia, can't see owt, feel like being herded like cattle ...

Thanks so much, there's me, monitoring Instagram! I did listen to the Radio 6 music news before going out to work, but nothing when I was listening. Got my tickets for Castleton Cavern.

So just a couple of months after I move out of the country, he's playing the intimate gig I always dreamed of about five minutes from my old house. In a cave. And although there's Ryanair flights available on the day before and after the gig, they're 300 each. Instead of the usual 15-30. Damn you, Jarvis. Damn you.
I got Liverpool tickets, a bit annoying as they're £10 more each than the Manchester gig! Also the Deaf Institute is a much better venue than those tunnels... but never mind! At least I'm seeing him play. Really weird that the media coverage of the gigs didn't happen until after the tickets went on sale. I was lucky there were still Liverpool tickets left.
Also- I read somewhere that Jarvis played a gig with this band in Iceland late last year. What sort of stuff did they play?

So we figure this is a tune up for a tour or a tune up to record an album? I haven't been paying attention, are people hearing things about Jarvis being in the studio?
Whoops, just read the Iceland thread now. New track sounds brilliant! It feels like he must surely have done some recording already, as the instrumental line up is so specific?
I figure an album must be recorded, yes. Or at least a cause of songs that he might use this small tour to judge about what goes down well and what doesn't...
Does anyone have the full press release? Weener was right about Serafina's involvement. I think the instantaneous flash said three women two men but the line-up looks the reverse. Where's the equality?!
London sold out before I'd seen the news. Not surprised, Moth Club is tiny, like a working man's club. Saw Wesley Gonzalez there a few months back, he was brilliant. Did manage to get a ticket for Brighton which, interestingly (or not), is also the town where he debuted his original solo career in 2006. Think Candida guested then. I guess the unorthodox venues up north explain the price differential. To be honest they sound much more fun than the normal live venues being used in London and Brighton.
