You will have probably seen in the media that the NME magazine is being discontinued (however, the website is remaining). I haven't bought it for years because most of the bands I enjoyed reading about haven't really been active. I bought it religiously from around 1995 to 2002 and in fairness I can say that it did introduce me to a few new bands/material i.e. I bought an album by Gomez on the strength of one single and the NME reviews. To be honest, the only outright bad thing I remember looking back is that it once went through a couple of months of featuring an inexplicably high amount of Oasis.

They always seemed to feature a decent amount of Pulp as well, even during the relatively quiet periods. Also, Pulp were regularly featured on the free tapes/CDs they gave out with the magazines.

Anyway, it would be nice to hear peoples' reflections. I'll leave you with this...
