Hi! I recently did an interview for the fine music books podcast Yammer of the Gods. The format of the podcast is normally that they talk about two or three books on a related theme so for the first half I'm talking about my book, then we move on to chat about Freak Out the Squares. I enjoyed doing it, and maybe some of you are mad enough to enjoy listening to me wittering on. Here it is: https://soundcloud.com/yammerofthegods/september-2017

Can't see where without signing up to a paid subscription. Can someone plonk it in the yahoo account if that's still alive? I'm more likely to listen to it while commuting and have earphones in. The sound is quite low on it.
Was that wah-wah "Here's what you could have had" music played at the beginning after the presenter says "One of the writers is here...and it's not Russell Senior" intentional? Well-harsh!
No need for a Paid account (I certainly don't have one!) but you might need a free account to make use of the download. Not sure.
Under the track's box are 4 little buttons.. Like, Repost, Share and ... More
Click the ... More and in the menu that pops up, there's a download link.
Note : That only properly works on a desktop. Soundcloud's html is horrendous, and anything that "should" pop up (menus, messages and basic bloomin functionality), tends to insta-pop-away as soon as it appears, making it completely and totally unusable on a mobile device.
I HATE SoundCloud for that..
... and yet continue to use it on an almost daily basis!!
Ta, listened to it in work after everyone was gone and I had a pile of paperwork to do. Anyway, great stuff! I thought initially the two interviewers sounded like they were going to spend the hour taking the piss but they asked really good questions. Loved the little Pulp instrumentals to break-up the speaking.
Felt like I'd some lot of Mark's thoughts on here before but there was some good insights and he was very engaging. Nice one!
I managed to have a listen by just searching for it on my regular podcast app (Player FM on Andriod) if it helps anyone to listen on their mobile devices. - I really enjoyed it too - cheers Mark (and friends!)
Do check out some of the other episodes of the podcast if you get chance - it's generally a very entertaining listen and doesn't normally have me droning all over it!
