I'm just curious what everyone's been listening to lately...I've been in a new music slump. and if you love pulp then you obviously have tremendous taste in music!
I've been listening to a lot of modern psychedelic stuff at the moment. Went to see Electric Moon last Sunday (someone from the Pulp premiere stood next to me, I think it was Magnus Doyle!), the phenomenal Bong supported. As I read your post I am currently listening to this free compilation put together by Kikagayu Moyo to celebrate their Tokyo Psych Fest. It's free so give it a whirl. It's pretty terrific.
I made a list of my favourite tracks of 2013 (and I think you can still download them too) - this week I'm mostly listening to David's Last Summer, though.
The reissue of The Auteurs' wonderful second album "Now I'm A Cowboy" which came out a few weeks after His'n'Hers and lyrically is arguably as sharp as Pulp on Different Class when tackling issues of class. Got rather over-looked at the time, the liner notes contain some positive references to Pulp (Blur, less so), Luke Haines as acerbic as ever.
Looking forward to listening to Lana Del Rey's new one and an American folk-band The Last Internacionale who Im going to see next week.

Hi Eamonn, thanks, glad you like the selection, Spotify? sorry fella, i honestly don't know what that is..I really need to upgrade my human & technological software. Most technological machine i have is my telephone and that is pretty shit i can tell you. i assume its a music file sharing thing of some description? If it wasn't for some lovely people on here i would have missed out on such a lot of pulp bits & pieces. I used to play some records in my local pub (the Lescar) on the odd occasion and called it 'Nights of suburbia with Dj Beat surgeon' I was called the surgeon because i used to wear gloves, i didn't want to get finger marks on my vinyl you see. And i always played a pulp tune or two, maybe if i had played the 'hits' it may have gone down a little better. But i would always be a knobhead and play something like 'Blue glow' or 'Aborigine' or basically anything nobody had the slightest interest in. Anyways, i digress, what where we talking about? oh yeah, Spotify! Erm, no i'm not.
I admire your Luddite ways, not overly techy meself. Spotify is a streaming programme (allows you to listen to millions of songs, no downloading). Nowt illegal, if sound of high fidelity is important to you it mightn't be your thing but its great as a try before you buy service. Anyway, they have a playlist sharing feature which would be a handy way of listening to your compilation.

RIP Joe. Showband legend. He re-recorded that song with Dustin the Turkey (kids tv puppet and Irish entrant at Eurovision 2008), check it out if you fancy a comedic version of it.
Recently I've been listening to the new Owen Pallett album, Cabaret Voltaire, The Haxan Cloak, Bill Callahan, the most recent Pastels album (before my gig with them later this week), and the debut album by The Delines, which is the new project from the singer/songwriter from Richmond Fontaine, really sad country/americana stuff.
King Krule and Janelle Monae's albums were two of my favorites from last year that I still put on a lot recently. Any of you ever listened to iamamiwhoami? HIGHLY recommend her. Check out her youtube channel because the videos are great.
