Someone has put on Pulp Wiki - "[David's Last Summer] contains a sample of "Lisa" by Santo and Johnny."

I think it's slightly similar in parts but I don't think they have sampled it outright.

Yeah, I mentioned it on the HnH is 20 thread. I think it sounds exactly like something he would play on his radio show or something that would fit right onto his and Smackey's The Trip compilation. It's a definite lift.
Crackin' tune, would be cool walk-on music for the right band.

I agree with Ian... it's a VERY similar sound, but I don't think Pulp sampled it. They've always been very good at crediting their samples, and have had ample opportunity to correct any omissions from the original HnH sleeve notes (the Deluxe Edition, the lyrics book, etc).

Besides, they didn't really sample anything until the Hardcore era, did they... I reckon they didn't have the kit until then!

Jarvis played "Lisa" on the Sunday Service and Richard Hawley said they were both fans of Santo and Johnny in an interview back to 2002, so that probably rules out any accidental similarity.
