Aw this is really wonderful. I like watching the older footage of the """final lineup""" (not counting Russell's departure of course). I don't think I've ever actually watched a live performance of Space before this but I think it translates better to a live setting because it seemed to work well with the atmosphere of the show. But I hate listening to Space normally. I almost always skip it/NEVER listen to the b-side of my O.U. record. Maybe I have a new appreciation for it. I guess I have got it live on some bootlegs but I must always skip it since I hate the recorded version so much.
Hate may be a strong word. I don't know if there's any Pulp song I hate. (besides maybe Silence and Aborigine.......)

On record I only really enjoy Space when the band come in fully with the funky instrumental wig-out. Jarvis' breathy monolouge and the wind-chime atmospherics up to that point are nice an'all but don't always bear repeated listening for me.
Finally watched it and I think it's absolutely brilliant. However, I have to ask; has Jarvis ever performed a concert where at some point or other he hasn't complained about the sound mix, monitors or weird feedback? I didn't think it was possible for Separations to go up again in my estimation but for me, once again, it's the song of the gig. They all seem so much more confident, despite some wayward bass playing from Steve, than that funereal show filmed at the Leadmill just a few months earlier.
