Not only that, Tom Ravenscroft, who has been sitting in all week, only played Countdown yesterday. On the radio. And on Wednesday evening, Mike Joyce played the Marram charity track Jarvis is on (did we mention this before, I can't remember?). It came on and I'm thinking vaguely as I'm cooking that it sounded familiar, and that's because it was. Sorry, that sentence seems to be in footballer tense.
Yes, and he used quite colloquial expressions, too. I noticed that. People who are nervous often speak indistinctly, too, but the Americans seem to understand him just fine.
i think that he sounded more Yorkshire and more like himself because it was Lammo who was doing the interview and they are basically friends now aren't they?
He generally sounds a lot more northern when he is being more chatty, rather than presenting something. I remember thinking how lovely the chatter was between the 4 of them that Lammo had on together before the reunion, like they were all just sat round having a natter in the pub, not being interviewed on the radio.

Yeah, his presenting voice is very mannered most of the time, as if he feels he has to be at his most professional and on his best behaviour. Shame really.
